I bought a fishing rod and did not catch anything... Tinned fish only for me
its winter, why the fuck you fishing in winter.

Do it in summer with some beer and a nice ten gallon hat

Fish get hungry during the winter and are more likely to go for static bait then flies due to slow movement and desperation.
During the warm months they get more picky and may only want to eat still living things, so flies are your best bet there so they have less chance to scrutinize it. They are a lot like cats.
That's all in general though. There are better tips for specific species.

Also most waterways are picked clean year round these days, leaving behind only very clever fish that don't fall for our BS. You should start out at a stocked pond/lake in a campground. They will often advertise this and let you go fishing for a small fee (or none at all possibly).

The weather is fucking beautiful right now in Texas. Perfect crisp upper 60s. Way better than last week when it was 9 degrees, although not as great as the week before that when it was low 70s.
it is, I love taking my walks in this weather, if only urbanization didnt fucking ruin my country ass town

Im texan, Im a swamp dweller, So I am glad to be banned
You are missing out of some noice ice fishing cabins. My friends and I used someone's ice fishing cabins (pulled off the lake, it was summer) during a dirt bike trip several years ago to Michigan. I'd never realized you could fish in such luxury.

I cant handle the cold very well unfortunately, during that snow storm in texas, I was wrapped in multiple layers.
If I ever get used to the cold, ill go north and fish

We didn't use the heaters (summer), but they had them. Generators, tvs, dvd players, crockpots and coffee pots. Well insulated and furnished. They could have been small luxury hunting cabins on the lakeshore, if they didn't have the ice door. I loathe the cold, and I'd definitely had used them for fishing had it not been summer. I've never gone ice fishing, but I can see the appeal.

AND YOUR FRAIL IMMUNE SYSTEM CANNOT HOPE TO SURVIVE THE ONSLAUGHT OF MOSQUITOS
Mosquitos aren't unique to Texas. It was on a small lake innawoods in Michigan during late summer. Lord, but did they have the skeeters...

But the skeeters of the South are definitely the worst. My dad's friend got fucking malaria, visiting Slidell, Louisiana. Which might be the absolutely shittiest place I've ever been to.

I just saw this. Looks like it was sent on the 3rd though.

The reason I just saw it now was because they sent out this.

Keep at it! Even if you don't catch many fish, it's a good time for chilling outdoors. In the cold, park near the shore and watch your pole from your car.

I'd like to fish, but I can't bring myself to hurt an animal even for food. Unless of course there's no grocery stores and it's the end of the world then I'll fish and hunt. Which is sad because when I move to the States I'd love to fish for some Snakehead. I hear they're fun to fish and they're a very tasty.
Game fishing and hunting is more humane than factory meat from the grocery store.

Are you sure you aren't Jewish? Tricking your god by offloading moral responsibility via commerce sounds awfully Talmudic to me...
His wife (and by extension, his children) is Jewish.
