Not only that, but Switch 1 had no competition in the handheld/home console market. Switch 2 is going to cost about as much as a Steam Deck ($550 for the 512gb version) with $80 games.
My biggest eye opener for the Steam Deck recently was a friend rigged his to "dock" to a PC setup: keyboard, mouse & desktop monitor, and it's easy to do so. It also HDMI's to effectively any living room TV and you can play it with what are basically MadCatz wireless controllers, so if you have a nice stable of indie and port titles it is extremely competitive with the Switch's niche.

All Nintendo has to work with is making their current e-shop purchases work with the new hardware so people don't lose their digital libraries, and exclusives. Nintendo exclusives are pretty significant imo, but they need to be a bit better than last gen to overcome the PC handheld dark horses.

I would like to wish all kiwis here, and jewsh especially, with a happy SCHEDULED MAINTENANCE
At least it isnt Tuesday morning like every other damn thing

Nintendo has been living on exclusives since the Wii days. The problem is every generation they have fewer that are worth buying and way fewer that are mind blowing.
The fact that the steamdeck does the exact same stuff, but is literally just a handheld PC with steam installed on sets them way ahead of every other console.

It doesn't just run their games, it runs all games via emulator. It doesn't just run games, it runs all linux programs. It doesn't just run linux programs, it runs all programs thanks to WINE. Heck based on my surface level exposure to it you could probably reflash the thing with Temple OS.

They have done what SONY promised and renegged on back in the day.

That’s a selling point for hardcore gamers with hundreds of steam games.

The steam deck’s biggest problem is that you can’t buy it at best buy while the Nintendo Switch will sit right there, with shiny games in boxes with green PEGI ratings. That’s why Nintendo will sell more switches 2 in the first year than valve will ever sell decks.

(Side note: I wonder how Microsoft would respond to a Linux PC being sold on store shelves. I know they went ape shit when the steam machines became a thing.)

The difference is the switch "just werks". Normalfags don't want to fiddle around with linux trying to set up an emulator.

Yeah, the next "console" i'll probably get is whatever the nicest steam deck is when I have money. If you have a steam library it seems like essentially a no-brainer.

I'd never get involved in another digital marketplace nearly as heavily as I am with steam - and a big part of it is nobody has the 20 year history of trust. Nintendo has a track record of being absolute fucks about digital content and now they're trying to sell a DL only console? That's a no for me, dawg.

@Null
Two shows back you mentioned getting a leather jacket and thankfully backtracked on this awful idea. The pea coat was a decent idea, but if you are losing the weight and starting to look better, why not dress better and with a little style?

It is time for a Members Only jacket.
It's time

The last two are solid movies when they aren't trying to take them too seriously, as is the matrix trilogy, if he can keep the executives from trying to make it 2deep4me, we could see a solid 8.5 movie which sure beats the the scores of the last matrix movie, and puts it with 2 and 3

They aren't, the download sticks are just a more tactful way then selling a case containing cardboard code with a download key, still $80 for odyssee two is crack smoking territory. Gaymers will still pay it because it's harder to think of a more buck broken demographic.
