I run linux as my main machine but have to use windows stuff for work. I'm not smart enough to do VM's. I just do the boomer move of using a dual monitor KVM switch and run 2 PC's. It's pretty solid and a good way to keep things separated.

Maybe just get a cheap refurb HP/Dell mini workstation and run Windows on that bare metal for streaming? Would eliminate all the driver and VM passthrough bullshit.

I came to see if the archivers are slacking, or gay and retarded computer issues killed the stream. But I guess I'm going to eventually get a long ass stream watch.

I enjoyed the archiver clip of Josh not believing the chat telling him his mic is fucked up.
 
Re: Null's opinion on the Mutahar fraud stuff. I fully understand what the disconnect is, computer people hear "Mutahar is pretending to be an engineer", and they think of the people they know who are supposedly qualified professionals but are completely useless, and they think "Okay, what's the big deal, he's probably actually more competent than most software developers". However, there are two big misconceptions here. The first is that, for the most part, people are not shocked and outraged that he would impersonate an engineer. The second misconception is that Mutahar is calling himself an engineer because he is competent, however there is no reason to believe that Mutahar knows how to write any amount of code, or that he even has nerd-level knowledge of computers. Here's a post I made explaining the matter.

Vm's suck dick. Imo. You are going to have a lot more shit to deal with if you want to run things through virtualization. Performance hits. Etc. Even if modern hardware can handle it better. Just using 2 drives, or if you can do it with the OS's you are using, containers, while still annoying are a bit better to deal with.
 
Few things about the Mutahar thing, but first I want to preface this by saying none of this holds substantial bearing towards the points Null made, which are all valid.

Anyways, Mutahar did not run his own business doing IT or penetration testing or anything similar, let alone for 12 years. While still in High School, a friend got him a job doing penetration testing, which he abandoned within a year or two; this one job comprises virtually all of his professional tech experience. He's self-described as a shitty programmer. He has no degree in anything whatsoever. He started calling himself an engineer in 2015, only a couple years out of High School, and not a couple years ago.

Even if Mutahar was a complete fraud who couldn't tell JAVA from Javascript, Null's still on the money about the term "engineer" itself. Gatekeeping the word "engineer" behind academia doesn't prove someone has credibility on a subject. I've been listening to some mock interviews from Coding Jesus' channel with many people who have bachelor's degrees in computer science who still can't explain an array or TCP. It's insane how little "educated" people actually know.

I think people underestimate his contributions to their show, they split the prep work/clipping roughly in half and Andy manages many of the parasocial relationships. I find his interjections kind of 50-50 but I know some people think he’s worse than that. Also you have to remember to some extent they’re friends, you usually don’t backstab a friend if things are going reasonably well. I think neither of them were that successful on their own and it’s clear that both of them prefer working with a partner.

Probably, I just downloaded a video from another thread and it was downloading at about 500 KB/s, and the site is struggling to handle the quote feature.

The current server upgrades should be handling it fine. I haven't noticed issues on my end, just the usual intermittent lag that sometimes happens because Xenforo is a dick. Still I wonder, what the fuck are all these people doing? Its like having a U2 spy plane just circling above your house. What you doing bro?

I think a few things are happening at once. Turkey Tom just released a video on Malding Faggot that, apparently, credited us heavily. That is one avenue of traffic. Also Asmongold continues to dive into Sektur shit, name dropping us as well as people in the Sektur. It all keeps leading back to here.
