The "play for clips" thing is the whole point of fragmovies and has been for decades. You can go watch old pubmasters movies, LOLYOU or even phoon videos to see what past generations (CS, CSS, CSGO) pre-"aimers" troon phenomenon looked like. None of these types of players are actually "good" in the grand scheme of things, they're not high ranked or pro material, they're not getting epic kill streaks 24/7. These clips are intentionally chosen BECAUSE of how they look standalone.
I know BF isn't CS nor 5v5 but there's a few key points that separate these kinds of tryhards from normal players:
- extreme game awareness, knowing where common spawn points are, listening for footsteps (example: quake spawn frags)
- dedication, doing the same setups and RSI-inducing mouse movements for hours on end, even if it fails 9 out of 10 times, all for the dopamine rush of getting twitter likes
- autistically optimized setup and gear, 2 gram mice with holes carved into the plastic, special keyboard switches, specialty-made mousepads, 400hz monitor, likely hopped up on adderall, caffeine or energy drinks
- in the case of the CS videos I mentioned above: glitches & boosts that other players definitely won't be prepared or watching out for, not sure if this is common in games like Battlefield
Keep in mind: it's fucking Battlefield which is already normie-tier, AND cross-platform, so other players are more than likely playing on XBOX with a wireless controller, 42 inch walmart brand TV, no headphones, sitting on a couch 15 feet away from their screen.
In the age of shadowplay it's way easier now to gather clips now too rather than having to be constantly recording or keeping timestamps to review in demos later.
Whether this troon and its chasers are cheaters though is something only the game developers can know, it's impossible to determine solely off of a few short clips strung together spanning who knows how long.
