You're not wrong, but you're explaining it in a way that people just aren't going to understand. The way to get people to understand, is that you are actually burning the metal by getting it super hot in an oxygen rich environment (you have to pipe enough oxy through the torch that it totally feeds the combustion of the acetylene and has enough left for the steel to burn) - not melting it. What we normally think of as "burning" involves carbon, so it makes carbon dioxide gas - when you burn metal it makes a calx (metal oxide - rust in the case of steel).
I am sorry if I went to school for this and know my shit. Is that a better explanation? Maybe? It still is what I said.

It’s how I understand it, and I am not well versed in the chemistry of it. I just use the things.
Laser cutters melt steel and then use a compressed air jet to cut through it. Plasma cutters similar. Oxyacetylene torches use the flame (which might be oxidising or not, but who cares) to melt the steel and then the compressed oxygen to do the cut.
Does it also cause some of the metal to burn? Sure, that’s why there’s a big shower of sparks, but the primary cutting action is the jet of gas.

Remember to clean the paint off under the grounding screw on the rack to get a good ground.
It should also get dielectric grease on the spot to ensure the connections stays good.

Anyone who doesn't have that shit on the battery terminals on their car should get on it, too.

The oxidizing flame is the heart of the process. If the oxygen just blew free molten metal then where is the pool of molten iron from the cut and why do they use the most dangerous gas possible for it (it could be nitrogen if it's just blowing stuff out)? The combustion of the metal is the entire purpose of the tool.

Depends on the state. Almost all require work experience that I'm aware of. 4000-8000 hours seems to be the norm to get started then a few more years supervised before you can hang out your shingle.

And you thought law was a protected profession.
Sorry bud, but to get to electrocution or welder money is involved. You need to save some to get further or better.

Is there any way to get an electrician license with a four year degree
They're mutually exclusive.

Apprenticeship is what you want. We are still in medieval feudalism with regard to trades. You find the organization that likes you and you get started.

The modern economy is kinda bullshit. You can't just learn something and get good at it. You have to dance like a jester to the tune that your lord loves and that becomes who you are.

Fucking wizard was right. :(

Idaho is 6000 hours for journeyman but there are several 4 year apprenticeship programs, Then 4 more years for master.

That’s pretty severe. What rules do you have about DIYing electrics on your own property?

Remember to also wash your penis, specially inside your foreskin, you dont want the wrong kind of cheese down there.
Did null get his foreskin stolen by ZOG?

Also, make sure to turn power off before fucking with wiring. It sounds obvious, but it is insane how many professionals I know that still fuck this up.

My rule is don't get caught. Most cities(all?) allow homeowners to pull their own permits but not for rentals or commercial. I think the electric utilities will also require an electrician for initial service setup.
