To me, a key difference between ASOIAF and MIA is that while, during the course of ASOIAF, bad things happen to characters that are children. MIA is a work solely created to show bad things happening to children - any plot is incidental to get the reader to the next full page drawing of a child being mutilated, and it doesn't have any other merit. I would not consider GURM's writing to be particularly gratuitous in this regard but I'm by no means a fan of ASOIAF and might be forgetting some scene or other.

I like when the knights did sword fights, clang clang clang, kchow, ching, and then they had brown people and killed Sean Bean and I never watched another episode, apparently they did weird sex shit and magic or dragons or something, couldn't tell you

when you have to skip the sex scenes to get to the REALLY interesting sections about which noble house is going to arrange a marriage next (arranging marriages is quite literally half the text in A SOY A.F. followed by mucho texto of Bran doing fucking nothing, Sansa doing fucking nothing, and Arya doing fucking nothing)

I pirated game of thrones in college because I wanted to try keeping up with the current thing™ as I had missed out on talking about things like lost and stuff and it seemed like people were having fun talking about it at least even if I wouldn't otherwise watch it

I basically prevailed to catch the very end of the 'talking about current thing' era dying out, and also the show was garbage so I regret it tbh
 
and don't even get me started on the half baked magic and mythology. for as much as retards love to jerk off over worldbuilding, there certainly isn't much thought put into what the fuck is even happening with all the crazy magic shit in gape of thrones. niggas be coming back from the dead n shiet but nobody even cares because it's more important to plot how to seize power for 400 pages... while completely ignoring how you could exploit FUCKING MAGIC to do so

The only show from that period of time i watched was Twin Peaks season 3, but when i was still in college people would talk about Game of Thrones and i was just like: "Ok, i'll wait until the final season". Then when the final season was over everyone told me the show was trash and not to watch it, so i feel like i dodged a bullet, specially in not reading the books cause big George RR Martin is never going to finish Winds of Winter.
Oh, and i was still in high school when Dance with Dragons came out, i remember a girl from my class walking around with that huge book and i kind of wanted to get into the books, but now i'm glad i didn't.

Everyone in that room treated that random dog better than Hasan did his. I have no clue what the fuck the TTS is saying because I'm not a fucking turk but people reacting with mild confusion and amusement as a dog comes in and says hi to everyone before being led out is like the polar opposite of "wealthy urban bugman forces a dog to stay in PLACE for hours on end.
