Don't talk shit about Maddox.

You forgot "Awesome dude" as a poll option. He is a God among men, when he updates it's like he's descending from Mt. Olympus to impart his wisdom on us lowly mortals.

^ Seriously, Maddox is awesome. I still have the Alphabet of Manliness somewhere.

No offense to OP, but you clearly don't understand what a lolcow is.

That's okay, I'm not offended... I understand that Maddox is not of the classical lolcow nature - just wanted to put up something controversial for discussion!

Well, IMHO there are two things integral in a proper lolcow.

1) The visual element. It's better to have video or photos of said dope. Maddox is a writer primarily.

2) lolcow implies that we are milking lulz from the guy. As such, there needs to be a trolling going on or some interaction. What seperates a lolcow from a random Internet dumbass is the tendency to get hit hard and yet refuse to learn the lesson.

I dunno. Maddox doesn't really have lolcow qualities to me. Hell, I'd chalk him up to being a troll before a lolcow, considering the way his work seems to make a decent amount of people pretty angry. At least angry enough to send him some pretty lulzy hatemail, some of which he then shows off for all to see and makes fun of. Having said that, I don't know if he qualifies for a troll either... anyone else think he would/wouldn't?

Maddox has been trolling since the late 90's, so he helped define what a troll is.

His book "I am Better Than Your Kids" is the greatest thing ever. I love it when he makes fun of children's art because I do the same thing.

He was on Penn and Teller's Bullshit just being a massive asshole troll and it was pretty funny. I like his page; wish it updated more.

This is hilarious.
Anyone else find it alarming that so many people don't know that "inane" is a word?

In the future, I recommend not posting something just to be controversial. I was debating whether to lock this thread or not, but I'm glad I've left it opened and that it's generally agreed that Maddox is not a lolcow but one cool dude. One thing I'm not crazy about is that once a while, people will call celebrities they don't like "lolcows" and I think they miss the point of a lolcow - just because you don't like someone it doesn't make them a lolcow. Everyone seems to laugh with Maddox, not at him so I think he's hardly a lolcow.

Let this thread be about how awesome Maddox is and how we will only be a fraction as cool as he is.

Nah, Maddox isn't an LOL cow. He fits none of the qualifications. Also, I wonder why all LOL cows have nude photos, the uglier they are the more nudes they have. Ick, that's another discussion.

Even though, I really don't like his sense of humor, I never put him in the LOL cow category.

I once had beers with the gentleman. I went to quaff a few at a local establishment well-known for its fine in-house brews, and he happened to be the guy at the next barstool. We live in the same town, where the bar selection is rather limited, but the good ones are really good. It's not too improbable you'd run into both of us at such a place on any random night (at least, before the police arrive).

It was a tremendously funny evening, and in person he's a super-nice dude. Seriously.
