Madonna is like a trashier and untalented verison of Shiina Ringo. Shiina did the whole punk thing at the beginning of her career in the late 90s to mid 2000s, but she managed to expand her forte into jazz and more avant garde stuff, all the while taking care of herself, being an assertive and directed woman in the music industry but not annoyingly so and not being trashy (and making actually good music). I think that's how Madonna started, then she became a dumb whore and ever since then has gone the route all whores go down and became outdated and never really got used to that. Instead of reinventing herself and retouching her image and music in order to elegantly age, she's wearing that shit at like 50 or 60 or whatever.

It could be argued she would have done good if she had changed her schthick after "Confessions on the Dance Floor" because by then her age had really started to show.

Yeah it wasn't until the Hard Candy era when she started to look old, and her image then was a massive downgrade and really aged her in just 3 years.
