Hilariously the crossbody bag and hat she's wearing are both Gucci, so that's a cool two grand there.

Remember when Madonna wouldn’t let Lola and Rocco watch tv? Lol. But yet David and Mercy and those twins are allowed to be partying with celebutantes and various and sundry gigolos and hangers on, seemingly as a regular occurrence.

I think Madonna circa 1996 - 2012(?) was largely interested in motherhood as a career move, and yes maybe she had some motherly instinct for her actual, biological children. But given that her “children” now have no biological, national, or even ethnic connection to her, she doesn’t care what she exposes them to.

I dunno maybe I’m wrong. It just looks very odd. There’s a borderline flirtatious vibe between her and David, (and she seems keen on thrusting him into the limelight as some latter day Basquiat or James Brown showman), Mercy looks adrift, and you know how I feel about those dark sided urchin twins. I know we are supposed to think it’s great that a wealthy white woman adopted a brood of African chirren but I’m sorry it looks (and likely is) very odd. I know they have toys and whatever money can buy but I wouldn’t call what you see below a “family” in any true sense of that word.

Lola and Rocco both have real relationships with their actual fathers, and therefore experienced time away from Madonna’s crazy ass world. And obviously Madonna herself seemed far more stable back then. But I guess it’s a moot point because Lola looks to be screwed up beyond belief so my theory is already disproved. Best to just not have Madonna as a mother, full stop.

I actually wonder if her spiral didn't start because of the Louis Vuitton leak.
She got featured in an ad campaign for Marc Jacob's LV FW09/10 collection and besides the obvious Man Ray solarisation, they photoshopped the hell out of her pictures and made her look about 20 years old



But then about a year later (2011ish) the unretouched photos got leaked (presumably by some bitchy gay intern) and while Madonna looked great for her age, the incredibly youthful styling and eccentric bunny ears head wrap made her look like an unhinged Miss Havisham type and she was mocked for it


Like she didn't look bad, exactly, but she looked old - and perhaps more damningly, like mutton dressed as lamb. She obviously pays attention to this stuff, like how she started wearing gloves non stop after the media picked up on her sinewy old lady hands.
This contrast has only become more pronounced over time
