That last picture looks almost like Kylie Minogue IMO.

She looks less like the Jigsaw puppet and getting rid of that stupid hair style helped too.

bahahahah suffah faggots! suffah bish!

She looks like a fragile old swamp witch on her way to some ritual where she'll bath in the blood of a virgin to become young again.

Or if i feel generous I could say she's somewhat channeling Kate Bush on her Before The Dawn residency in 2014.

The theme of the Met Gala this year was "Costume Art", so the idea was to reference art. This is the whole Madonna look

It's actually a reference to a pretty cool and obscure 1940s surrealist work, The Temptation Of Saint Anthony by Leonora Carrington

Madonna is very good at surrounding herself with creative people, but what cheapens it a bit is who she is embodying.

The painting was largely inspired by a Victorian novel, La Tentation de Saint Antoine, which imagines that visions of the Queen of Sheba was one of the temptations. The figure with a boat hat and bugle is sometimes interpreted as the Queen of Sheba, although that's probably the figure in red.

The whole thing with the Queen of Sheba is she was super sexy, and in Kabbalah specifically she's linked with Lilith as a symbolic of the demonic unholy seductive aspect of the feminine. So this is probably Madge trying to communicate she's a succubus.

iirc didn't Frank Sinatra even re-record his old library because of record company bullshit?
Some of his bigger songs, yes, but not huge chunks of his library. That wasn't too uncommon in those days. When guys would move from one label to another, they would frequently re-record an older hit, in the assumption that someone who did not yet buy the record would buy the newer version because they probably got a better deal on the royalities. Even a number of the early R&R guys did that.

Suzanne Vega did this pretty recently.

It might chart

Madonna has not managed to get a solo hit charting since the Bush administration btw. Unless celebration charted...
Yes even in her Ws, I'm still gonna felt her.

I saw some talk about her met gala look that are pretty kino. Something something... hantadonna. The boat head piece was a foreshadowing of the cruise ship with an outbreak of Hantavirus and drawing parallels between the hantavirus coming from a .
Here's the instagram post (I tried to archive it but the archiving site just felts me with a never ending loading page.)

I just read this. Mayhem is cute but better than Born This Way? Never
I will respectfully disagree. lol.

Born This Way has some bangers (Edge of Glory and You & I are total career highlights, no question), but it also has some cringey songs on there (Hair being the first one that comes to my mind) that bog the album down for me.

Mayhem is a banger through and through, in my opinion. My previous favorite Lady Gaga album was The Fame (I love its cheeky and borderline sardonic tone), and I feel that Mayhem took all of the best stuff from The Fame/Fame Monster era and refined it to make it even better. It's exactly the album I wanted from Gaga. Production quality is insane in it too.

Mayhem's sound was heavily influenced by industrial music and funk, it's got some fun "Halloween/Spooky season" anthems, her vocals have never sounded better, and I even got a song where she's singing like Tina Turner. Mayhem feels like it was basically made for me, lol.

I also think that "Vanish Into You" is her best song ever. Pop music perfection.

Since it's a bit quiet I'll do a little update on Confession 2

Madonna released the titles of the 16 tracks on her album. For the quality of music she's been dropping in the past 15 years, 16 tracks is too much and worrying. Also still relying on religion and sex (muh reinvention). Apparently Fragile is about Christopher and Danceteria is the name of a club in NYC she went to a lot and annoyed the DJs to play her cassettes.

She also threatens us with a new tour? I might go againg if she comes to my city and give another run down of how it went, but I'll take a cheap seat this time.

Also been obsessed with this song lately 🥰. Dumb skank should have done it instead of Mother and Father at the Celebration tour.
