It seems to like people whose reputations have/are being destroyed, people that have things to lose, it likes to corrupt and ruin people for amusement.

Chris didn't have anything going for him, and as far as we know he was the first to summon him in modern times. He has been moving progressively upwards towards more prominent figures at first glance, but iirc idubbz happened before Ralph, so the demon isn't necessarily aiming for higher targets. The two biggest are idubbbz and Nick, and they were targeted by a third party.

The more important question about Dax is this: if he were possessed, how would anyone be able to tell? If he got busted for coke or CP or raping a minor today, I don't think anyone would be thinking it's a sign of demonic possession.

Its not their reputation or their life situation its their sanity. One thing is obvious from all of this the cursed men always lose their sanity everything else is the consequences of losing their sanity and common sense .
