I mean if you want Power Creep.

Hero's Downfall used to be a god tier removal spell in Standard and now Something like Swift End/Murderous Rider went kinda unplayed in Standard despite being Hero's Downfall with a 2/3 attached.

Maro is a cock sucking retard who gets Hero worshiped by the (((((COMMMUNITY))))) for no good reason, remember this is the dumb faggot who keeps trying to shove Goyslop Unsets down everyone's throats.
MaRo makes me fucking nauseous everytime he opens his mouth. There's being optimistic, then there's cringe. He rides cringe like a homeless dude on public transport.

That return to Tarkir will fuck up the clans, just watch it. And what rare land cycle will they use considering the triome cycle is way too tired to Ikoria? Odds are it'll be more busted than the tricycles.
Given that Tarkir got retconned in universe to an allied color set, I imagine it will be that. Unless the Phyrexian invasion flipped the table by killing/compleating the bulk of the Elder Dragons (the MoM card "Zurgo and Ojutai" at least implies something happened to Kholingan)

Even Maro admits that dropping the wedges in Tarkir was a mistake so they're 100% bringing them back.

I was ignoring duskmorne after the first spoiler s, but I decided to look at it after a friend messaged me about it and it looks like another non-fantasy garbage plane like most modern magic planes. It's probably the worst of all the tropey garbage planes in that there are TVs, Nikes and very little in the way of fantasy. Another set that could easily have been an unset like capenna, murders and outlaws.

That said I did like bloomburrow as a plane because I really liked redwall as a kid and I'm hoping it gets the lorwyn treatment of never being visited again beyond one or two cards here and there(I wrote this before looking at the release schedule for sets, I am now a little sad).

LoL but yeah I thought about that too, only problems are 1) the girls would have to take 9 months off for the pregnancy (no sign of that) and 2) there was like... no indication of anything going on in the city. The crops we see don't have any indication of romance or even cuddling. They're nice, wholesome, totally chaste gatherings where men and women are treated as completely interchangeable.

It's almost like they're playing into the cliche of spoiled liberal city folk having no knowledge or awareness of where things come from and they just spring up in grocery stores.
Perhaps there's a massive orgy sometime before the eternalization process? It would make sense as a warrior production facility that sex would be a thing for trial winners only.

I haven't made a comment about it because I am not yet done with the entire story/podcast discussion of it but one of the Karens that do the Magic Story Podcast said something particularly retarded in the one i listened to on my way to work today.

"Elesh Norn was cunning and that is why she was able to conquer the multiverse"

Elesh Norn lost on EVERY FUCKING FRONT of the invasion except 2, These two are so retarded they don't remember the details from a storyline they covered from a year ago.

He also admitted the clans were WAY more popular than they expected, so yeah I'm assuming with MOM they're going to use that as a way of creating new wedge "dragon clans."

That would have made sense if they ever left a gap like that in the story. (I actually kind of like your idea though there's a problem that they went "modern" in the set so all the women in the society are participating with the men.)

Are they both actually women or you're just insulting 2 soyboys?

I do wonder sometimes that some gals don't seem like they ever actually pay attention to a tale.

Elesh Norn had delusions of grandeur that made Caligula look humble. Not that that's bad, mind- white-aligned villains do tend to go waaaaay of the deep end in pursuit of The Greater Good, so it fits. But given that she made several breakthroughs that Old Phyrexia never managed and tried to capitalize on them by taking on the entire multiverse at once, it shouldn't be surprising that her reach exceeded her grasp.

Nicol Bolas came much closer to multiversal domination than she ever did.

I mean the reason she lost was kind of an ass pull that nobody could have foreseen. Elspeth just popping out of nowhere empowered by The Sylex and the remnants of Serras realm isn't something you plan for. The funniest thing is that Norn lost to the same strategy Yawgmoth tried and failed to win with. Just shoving one whole plane into another and assaulting the enemy from it.

She was losing on most fronts already, Atraxa was dead, Half the invasions were getting BTFO by god tier threats on planes, the invasion tree was getting controlled by wrenn, and Jin openly rebelled as Zalphir was invading.

The only reason Norn was a threat at all was because they retconned the oil to be absurdly op zombie plauge shit

just got back from another long break, rolling around with this nowadays:

Modern:

Legacy:

The Modern meta is so removal heavy nowadays that my strategy often falls into a more long, reactive style game half of the time. Rotpriest is a massive help in this regard. The Legacy list is a lot stronger at this than the modern version though even without the priest. Those explosive early game win steals still happen but not nearly as much, especially since almost every T1 Modern deck runs Solitude now. Infect is pretty weak in Modern at the moment but I still enjoy playing it. hopeful that one day my favorite archetype will come back with a bang.

Latest MaRo article...

Magic is currently in a phase where it's stretching creatively and pushing our boundaries. Following the success of Kamiagwa: Neon Dynasty, one of the areas we were interested to explore pushed more into the modern space. High fantasy is traditionally associated with a technology level of many centuries ago, but there's no reason it can't exist with other technology levels. Was there a setting we'd like to explore that has a more modern level of technology?
Magic has also been exploring various subgenres. Horror is popular enough with players that we felt we could try creating another setting with the horror genre as its center. Innistrad focuses on gothic horror and New Phyrexia on what I'll call "alien" horror. Were there other subgenres of horror we could explore?
These two forces came together with the idea of a plane that revolves around "modern" horror, focused on the horror films of the 70's and 80's. We then combined it with another idea we'd been talking about: a set that was all indoors. The idea of an impossibly large mansion plays into the horror trope space we were exploring, so that's what got greenlit:
  • A new plane
  • 70's and 80's horror film inspired (and the technology level that came with that)
  • A set that takes place solely inside a single mansion
So buckle up guys. No telling how long we're going to have this.

I found an image of the hosts of the Magic Lore Podcast.

It's sounds exactly how you think it does based on this image.
I mean... at this point you get what you deserve. ;)

I'll still toast you my weird, odd meatbag.

Ah yes, the cunning strategy of diluting your forces by attacking everywhere all at once, with no reserves and the only hope of reinforcement coming from compleating the local population. Very cunning, it's no wonder she won and the multiverse is now entirely Phyrexianized. #girlboss

Women like this unironically make the case, through their very existence, that you should never bother to listen to women.

I have not.

Can you give me a quick pitch for it?
I was given the first book of the Wheel of Time Series when I was 10, It is to me what Lord of the Rings is to most people growing up.

Amazon Made a live action Adaptation of it.

I watch the Amazon version of it JUST because of something that happened in the first episode of season 1 and the series only went downhill from the first episode, Me listening to MTG podcast is just silly funny "WOTC are retards" times. Amazon WOT is legitimately someone ruining my childhood and I react accordingly, I am the Lolcow in that thread.
