Man, what is up with brainlet control players? If you can't read cards stick to aggro. Someone just held a bounce that I knew about and was saving it for a 3/3 vigilance token instead of a Kaya, The Inexorable sitting at 7 loyalty. I'm just sitting there his entire turn giggling as he keeps spending mana on everything but the answer to a emblem that effectively wins you the game. That is 100% something to shame scoop to but instead he stuck around while I kept stealing cards out of his deck by looping Kotose until he could no longer answer anything.

"Planeswalker ult's don't matter because you will never ever EVER ult so you just ignore them"

except you know when it is control vs control and the field stalls, shit as a Jund player my favorite opening hand is "2 Lands with a fetch, a Wrenn and Six and a Liliana" just because slowing the game to an absolute crawl with a Wrenn on the field means that a Wrenn+6 Emblem is a must answer threat eventually.

Especially with the new charm..holy fucking shit that thing is good with a Wrenn and Six Emblem.

Vorinclex, Monstrous Raider is fairy recent and it makes it super easy to instantly drop an ult, as long as it costs at maximum twice the planeswalker's starting Loyalty. Can make for a disgusting commander in a mono-green Superfriends deck.
 
Anyone draft the new set yet? I've done one so far on Arena and don't feel like even finishing it. Doesn't help that the art doesn't feel inspiring at all, and while I had my issues with Neon Dynasty I still liked the art in itself, but this set just feels like shit.

Yes, it was fine. Not as good as Neon, better then the three before that for sure. I had fun mind controlling their big things and then saccing them with casualty- I am a simple man.

I didn't play the prior two sets to Neon so that's maybe why I'm judging this much more harshly. Could also just be the pool I got which had a very linear set of picks which felt a bit forced.

have drafted the new set. bant is the only thing to bother drafting. force it. even if you get shitty picks it's still going to win more often than not against everything but another bant deck.
 
Esper is also fine, But I don't think it's as bad as fucking Adventures in the Forgotten Realm was where basically all the cards outside Rakdos were complete garbage that you never see in any format. It's just a format where the commons and uncommons probably mean more then the bombs and blue/white have the best commons. Connive is probably the only new keyword in the set that's a real success.
 
I'm not super well versed in Warhammer 40k lore but making a blue card that draws you cards when you hit someone in the face with it an Ultramarine and not a Tech Priest or something else from Cult Mechanicus seems dumb.

Also there are so many juicy Grixis commanders released in the last 6 months holy shit.

It's not as bad as I expected, and I'm guessing GW wouldn't let their IP be fucked with which is why we don't see space marines making out with one another, but it really doesn't feel like Magic anymore at all.

I think this is something they kind of run into in every cross over, they quickly run out of "Iconic" things to off that non 40K fans will understand easily.

I will say, I think Squad is a cool mechanic that I kind of hope shows up in Standard at some point..its like Replicate for creatures.

Edit : Also there is the fact that Games Workshop are fucking Faggots when it comes to pushing the Smurfs into the forefront, back room wise I would 100% believe whatever GW rep was working with WOTC to get the flavor right completely ignored the holy shit out of any aspect of SPOOCE Marines aside from the Blue Armor Fags.
