That I agree with.

I'm not opposed to cards being expensive, but the whole "buy the dip" and quick tendies shit is annoying. It's why I'm not a fan of collector packs and serialized cards, it's very artificial, while something like a card naturally growing in price because it turns out better than people expected is fine. I'm also more of a fan of lottery cards like priceless treasures (or whatever Kaladesh had was called) as it's a reprint that's unique, offers something for people to chase, and doesn't completely tank the value of the reprint. It's also just unique enough to make it feel like there aren't a million variants and really the error Wizards made was adding so many in each set as opposed to slowly adding them across sets over time.

Sometimes, less is more.
I think this was literally the point of Rudy's last video only you said it all much more concise and eloquently than he did.

I do have the Wizard deck from the commander 2017 and was trying it out yesterday. Interesting, but boy does it suffer from being unfocused. (there's 3 "official" commanders in it, it really came with 4 and all 4 each encourage a different line of play and almost everything in the deck is super expensive with no ramp) I started debating whether I wanted to crack it apart and try to focus it around something (Kess with spell shenanigans? or stick with Inalla and make a battle-wizards jank deck?) or just leave it completely sleeved and boxed and sell it to the store we were just playing in which was offering the exact same deck (complete with sleeves and box) for $85.

At a certain point the commander decks just became content drops for the entrenched EDH players and stopped being about giving something to entry level players to get in on EDH.
If you do end up cracking the wizards deck apart, I've got a Kess wheels deck that's probably my favorite deck to play because it just races through everyone's decks and makes the normally drawn out games of EDH a much shorter affair.

The worst part of that is that the Commander Decks aren't even all that good for "Content Drops"

I like how they're giving Amazon first billing at the bottom now. Wonder how long before they drop the game store link altogether because too many show dead locations:

Well yeah, I mean the LGS has to die. Wizards has a way to sell direct to consumers, and the LGS enables the secondary market. They just want a real world version of MTGA. They would outlaw trading if they could.

40$ precons have better manabases, holy shit. And that's a five color deck.
It is a step in the right direction at least, they basically put in all the cheap Duals that were rares and a bunch of fetches, as opposed to the stupid 5C filter lands they did last time they did a five color deck. As much as I want to yell at them for the decks not having 10 real Fetches and 10 ABU duals..they are at least improving bit by bit.

Fuck Slivers though, slivers are for faggot consumers.

Yawn... Wake me up when they start including tricycle lands. ABU duals pale in comparison.

The Triomes? I wouldn't mind those but again they are moving in the right direction.

Edit : Looking at 5C Planeswalker's list, The Sliver Manabase is a massive improvement in a way. Jared had a whole bunch of cards with multiple colored mana symbols as part of the cost so the fact this deck not only has more Fetches/Fetchable Lands, you will have an easier time being able to navigate the colored casting costs because you don't have to try and navigate casting a Simic Card, then a Boros Card, then a Rakdos Card.

No it's fucking not. Those are basically side-grades of shitty 5c manabases. They've just took out a few lands that let you recolor mana 5 to 5, put a few low-end creature-oriented lands and called it a premium deck. Nobody expected fetches and shit, but this is way too bad. Half of the lands etb tapped, shitty fetches only have tapped or conditionally tapped duals to fetch. Some can ebter untapped, if you have two basics. But there's only 11 basics, which isn't that much. What's most infuriating is that there's plenty of cheap options that don't suck nearly as much. Not even mentioning Sliver Hive, THE ONLY FUCKING SLIVER-THEMED LAND IN THE ENTIRE CARDPOOL which they've decided not to reprint for some fucking reason. Also, fuck-all manarocks. Not even chromantic lantern.
If anything was a step in the right direction, it's LotR decks. It wasn't anything optimal, but better than usual. And here we are back to the usual shit. But this shit is in supposed premium decks that cost two times as much(and in reality - way more).

But there's one thing I must unironically applaud wizards for. They've masterfully made me sneed over shit I had no intentions to buy from the beginning.

Half of the lands etb tapped
At least Jared had the speed-turtle in his deck so you could (in theory) get around that limitation.

Still for these CM decks which are supposed to be $80, they could have included fetches.

Yeah that's also a war crime too. Again, for decks well over $80.

Is it controversial that I liked the Predator Slivers, Come on they're in different planes thus you can get away with Slivers looking different.
Some I thought worked, some didn't.

The more they still looked like the weird, alien-style sliver (like blur sliver or striking sliver) I was happy with it. It's when they started to look like just more humans to be pozzed I took issue (sentinel sliver, diffusion sliver). Constricting sliver is right on that line for me.

EDIT: Ok, pretty cool they are doing amass slivers in the deck.

Not even chromantic lantern.
Lol Nigger Chromantic Lantern is fucking useless these days, it has 8 Ramp sources 7 of which at 2 Mana. 3 Mana Manarocks are Bad.

They've just took out a few lands that let you recolor mana 5 to 5
Those cards are Trash, they don't turn 5 mana into 5 they turn 6 Mana into 5 because you have to tap the land your are filtering through. The only reason you should ever Run Cascading Cataracts is if you Have Golos.

shitty fetches only have tapped or conditionally tapped duals to fetch. Some can ebter untapped, if you have two basics.
Yeah, and if you Seriously think they are putting in the Real Fetches and Shocks you are a dumb bitch.

Sliver Hive, THE ONLY FUCKING SLIVER-THEMED LAND IN THE ENTIRE CARDPOOL
Sliver Hive is a fucking trap card, Honestly my biggest complaint about the landbase are the two lands that only add colored mana for the Tribe, those cards are far worse than they look.

But there's only 11 basics, which isn't that much.
Fucking LOL imagine playing more than 10 basics in your five color deck.

They've masterfully made me sneed over shit I had no intentions to buy from the beginning.
Imagine being asshurt that they aren't putting Fetches and Shocks into a precon, you know they aren't gonna do that and to even think they would for a second makes you a complete and utter retard.

Anyone who cares about the art of Slivers is a fucking nitwit..slivers are fucking lame and if you like them in the first place you should neck yourself.

Flexo you are smarter than to post an example from like a decade ago as what WOTC would do now.
lol I'm just saying it's not like he got the idea from nowhere. As much money as they are demanding for these decks, they could toss fetches in there. IMO

Especially considering how much the clash packs were almost a joke back in the day.

Planeswalker Precon has been spoiled and it's looking better than Slivers
It still bugs my OCD that they toss in a full cycle of the "tapped unless you reveal a [land type] from hand" and then NONE of the other non-basics come with the land types.
