Not sure who this is for, unlike most of the universes beyond shit Marvel already has a perfectly reasonable CCG in Marvel Snap, so the only people who want this are M:tG fags with mild appreciation of current year Marvel, everyone else will get nothing out of this except pushed commander cards (statistically)

Seriously, how can you not have enough with Marvel + cardboard by now? I can't go to any damn game store nowadays without half the shelves having "MARVEL" stamped all over it.

" Sorry War of the Spark and March of the Machines didn't incapsulate( plagiarize) the true spirit of marvel. Here's the real deal. A thousand apologies, sirs." T. Mark Rosewater.

I can’t wait for a year or three from now when we get another article from maro talking about all the mistakes the design team has made and he tries harder than anything to not blame what will absolutely flop on anyone even remotely related to it.

This was literally the thing everyone joked about when they announced the walking dead. I was willing to accept some of the universes beyond sets (begrudgingly) because they push for more interesting mechanical returns (I’ve enjoyed everything 40k and the who decks pulled out of retirement, and some of the fallout stuff looks passable), but capeshit is dead. It has been dead. I thought with black rock cutting of the ESG shit, We’d stop seeing this fucking retard product decisions, but I guess you can’t make retardedness go away even if you cut its funding. No cape shit for me, that set is hopefully going to be the next magic 30.

Because Wizards of the Coast has completely ceded that they are completely and utterly incapable of creating their own lore without it being absolute horseshit.
This is exactly what it is, and this is after they just used time travel to strip mine the past of the game to fully delve into the Brothers War. As shit as the lore has been lately, seeing that set reminded me that they used to have some interesting leads... because they were allowed to be morally grey. It is depressing that I gave more shits about Brothers War than any other set this game has had for the past five years.

And all this Expanded Universe shit does is show that they know they have no more good lore people inhouse. I mean, who even gave two shits about Hoarli and that indian gal she's rugmunching?

Nah, I can see Marvel soyjaks buying this slop but Universes Beyond is making it clear that the game creatively is in a goddamned death spiral.

I hate these fucking crossover sets, luckily Commander will probably never reach Arena.

Speaking of Arena, I hate Alchemy and what I hate even more than Alchemy are the fucking rebalanced cards they made.
They should just purge Alchemy from the client and stop pushing it on people.

They have not had good writers since the Time Spiral Block.

The problem is that there are no people dedicated to actually balancing cards. Recent Q&A they admitted that they stopped doing the "take draft chaff and balance it to try to be standard powerlevel" shit and frequent nerfs/buffs for the meta because the Alchemy/Historic balance team is the same people as the guys scripting cards and scripting cards is obviously more important.

I hate the Digital Only stuff because they will give you 0 compensation when they nerf it (RIP my wild cards for Bowmasters for my Saltai Flash deck) but if some retard decided that they buffed Symmetry Sage too hard and nerf it back to paper I lose nothing.

I just want my boy Urza back :(
I wanna see him do more war crimes, maybe a eugenics project involving turning the gatewatch or whatever nu-watch is that involves creating the perfect toilet/slave labor class.

What do you mean? The Magic/Tiktok mashup is the best lore promotion ever dreamed up.

All they had to do was copy Hearthstone: constant, incremental tinkering to card balance in the virtual space. Show that they know how to balance Standard properly, despite all evidence to the contrary.

But no, they just had to sell more cards. And the only way they know how to sell cards, is to print completely busted singles or mechanics to force you to buy cards.

Shit like that doesn't matter when you can't even tell a basic story without fucking it up.

Ravnica 2: We Introduce Vraska a Gorgon Planeswalker who hates how the Guildpact works, plans to overthrow the entire system, Jace who we know becomes the Guildpact.

Amonkhet: Jace gets his Mind wiped by a spell Ugin planted in his mind incase anyone ever decided to mind read Jace about Ugin

Ixalan: Mind Wiped Jace meets Vraska, who despite having a chance to kill the guy in charge of the Guildpact she hates doesn't because he is helpless..the two end up kinda flirty. Jace gets Memory back..

Ravnica 3: Jace gets the Guildpact leadership part of him removed, The Romance between him and Vraska ends because "Jace wants to wander around"

Phyrexia All will be one : Jace and Vraska are suddenly in love again despite having not interacted between Ravnica 3 and now, and now Vraska is probably dead.

They legitimately can't even write a basic romance without absolutely fucking it up and then expecting us to give a rats ass when they presumably die.

That can be big business innertia. They make sets way in advance, and contracts are signed before announcements. Expect at least one more year of this, and that's in case these things prove unprofitable, which I doubt
who even gave two shits about Hoarli and that indian gal she's rugmunching?
That's the funny thing. For other popular franchises in a case like this there would be pornography made day 0. Pornography is why Overwatch survived as long as it did. MTG is not an obscure franchise. So, that means either fans en-masse really don't give a fuck about anything beyound textbox, or MTG is way more efficient at extracting money from the usual crowd than I've expected.

I actually don't mind the cross over commander's but I feel like they are wasted potential.

They should be limited to their precons and used as a pick up play alternative for new or casual players. Instead they are priced and sold as a premium product for collectors.

I really wish cross overs were treated as novelties but outside of being nostalgic and playing the 40k set with friends I've not really touched magic during game night.

I’ll be honest, I didn’t even remember them interacting at ALL in this arc for war. I read the stupid novel (I actually liked Greg before having to read that slop), and I don’t even remember them having a scene together? I wanna say they talked at the end of the book, but it was a real nothing burger.
