YouTubers like LegenVD or Magic Aids can provide some potentially good explanations of different decks in standard and modern formats and could help you absorb some play patterns
as much as i love magic aids i think he'd be terrible for a new player learning the game. his extremely fast-paced editing and insistence on using (admittedly funny) nicknames for all the cards would leave them lost, not to mention his "unique" way of speaking. definitely check him out once you learn the ropes though.

I can't speak to the "Not Official Clients" the few times I really ever tried using them the groups I looked into ended up being stupid faggots who run the exact same CEDH deck over and over.

I had a bunch of Brazilians say "THE MOXES ARE BANNED!" then reee the whole time I played... ummm no, no they aren't just the original 5 are. Like they didn't even realize that X-Mage enforced the ban list automatically.

This isn't really for magic players or collectors but treating it as a option in a rotating board game night.
This is one of those really hard things, because if you only have 4 decks then things will probably get dull pretty fast.

Well technically the moxes should be banned (and sol ring and mana crypt) even if i could play them i wouldnt want to because the play patterns are shitty

Built and sold by ideally. This isn't really for magic players or collectors but treating it as a option in a rotating board game night.

I know enough I could get some basic precons but something that comes in it's own self contained product would be great. Will check on the 2015 sets.
I agree with Honka that playing each precon from a given set against the others will get boring pretty quick, but as a tip for longevity most precons have another legendary in them that has the same color identity and is also a reasonable commander for the deck.

it's only silly when you get like mox opal, signet, land, sol ring, crypt, vault and then draw like lightning greaves.... and are playing zur then fetch necro and refill your hand. I think that's what they were mad about... it was something like that anyway.

On another note that made me giggle.

As for the fix to that type of broke shit, point system of some sort.

I'm pretty sure it's some weird knife/wand thing like on hell to pay.

Wands come with trigger mechanisms now? Look at the index finger.

I get it, retards think guns are some kind of special form of magic, but it's a fucking lead pipe with a projectile and making it shoot magic wizard juice isn't any different. Maybe I'm being an autist, but it's really retarded how people are about guns.

You're probably right, but making magical laser guns for the western set seems like a silly work around to an easily solved problem of just adding in guns.

The leaks of the mechanics for outlaw junction make most of the mechanics look middling at best… saddle is crewing creatures that are already creatures, committing crime is super easy so none of the cards surrounding that mechanic will be powerful, outlaws being an amalgamation of creature types like party will not end well, and the only mechanic I actually like is plot as it could potentially make a dope storm turn after enough build up.

The set is going to outperform Murders at Karlov manor and I hate it.

Murders at Karlov Manor is a garbage set as well.
