Yes, so Jace is actually Ashiok in his mind like a Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde.

It has been entertaining to watch Hatcher have a complete mental breakdown over this.

This story sounds so bad, it would have to put in work just to UPGRADE to shit.

I never know if I hate the guy or like him, but I've been watching more of him lately. I get where he's coming from, I don't exactly care about the story of Magic, but I enjoy it enough when it's good that it makes me like the game more. The modern story has made me like Magic less and less.

I think this sums it up

I never know if I hate the guy or like him
He's the kind of guy I want to hate, but every time I listen to him talk about Magic I think "You know what, you're alright."
He clearly cares about the game and isn't completely brain rotted like Pozzed8Rack and The Pedicure Professor. He doesn't care about the woke stuff he just wants the game to be good.

An interesting concept was brought up in the BG3 thread, and I wanted to see if anyone here had any thoughts on it, especially since I probably haven’t been following WotC for as long as someone could. Is there any good basis for a WotC thread documenting their slide into retardation? I’m pretty sure that their pozzing started in the Origins/BFZ era when they started the marvel tier writing, but the triumph of ferocity controversy was brought up, which I’d forgotten about. Does anyone else have any other examples that they think of as go to WotC retardation?

MTG artist Donato Giancola (one of the OG artists, and is known for drawing REALLY detailed hands), called out Fay Dalton for plagiarizing one of his previous artworks:

That's a bit of a reach, but really at this point WotC is such a shit show that I wouldn't be surprised either. Magic is probably bigger than ever, but a few years from now I can see it dying out completely.

Oh yeah, there's that time an artist copied fan art of Nicol Bolas for a card.
It was Jason Felix and he didn't only copy fan art he also pasted in the art of ugin the spirit dragon by Raymond Swanland. I wouldn't be surprised if more pieces of art were collages.

If you look at the original painting, then look at the card, its extremely obvious that the vest is just painted over, its embarrassing to be honest. At least the Crux of Fate plagiarist sort of moved Bolas and Ugin around a bit and manipulated their poses. This woman just stole the entire background, slapped a vest and a mohawk on this elf thing, copy pasta'ed an axe twice and called it a day.

I think it’d be one thing if the artist reached out and asked another artist to collaborate or if they could make a direct reference to their art. Stuff like this might be fine for a first run to get the idea on paper but come on, for a paid gif you’re gonna steal from someone else that ALSO does work for WotC??? I have to wonder if any of these artists were journalists before they started stealing art…

So OoTJ mechanics posted.

Outlaws - fine idea, but it's 5 freaking things. The bigger problem is stuff like this and "party" how are you going to be sure you're keeping track of what all counts as an "outlaw" or "party"? (also rogues count for both!)

Crime - I don't mind this, save it doesn't affect hand/library? That seems weird that if I exile out of your graveyard, I've committed a crime, but if I thoughtsieze or mill you, I haven't.

Spree - Brilliant concept, one of the best innovations of the game - awful name. I'd like to see this show up in way more sets, but it's going to be weird always having it named "spree."

Saddles/Mounts - Really dumb variant of vehicles. I have trouble believing anybody will ever care about this.

Plot - A variation of foretell - except everyone gets to see what you're up to. I also kind of like this mechanic and want to see more of it in the future. It's like a more perfect version of "suspend."

Bounties.

Look at this. LOOK AT THIS SHIT

I can't remember who it was talking about how "the rules weren't that complicated" or something - maybe it was @Rich Evans Ayypologist - but I blame you now for this. We've gone from player aides that are helpful, to just plain required.

Every day we get closer to the 4chan joke.
