I know commander games are long but I think something is actively unbalanced in my playgroup that games just drag on and on and on. I have been in several games where we had a newcomer, and the newcomer scooped because "I'm not doing this anymore" after boardwipe no. 3. We also have a few people that bring ragamuffin children who can barely play, which is fine in theory but their turns take 3x as long because they don't know what's going on, which adds hours to the games throughout the night.
I dunno if games are dragging on after repeated boardwipes I think perhaps the decks have flaws in them. If the decks are nothing but Boardwipes and Card Draw I kind of question what kind of card draw is being used, most of my decks tend to end the game around turn 7 unless something goes Horribly Arwy.

Also if you are playing green and want Anti-Board Wipe tech, just run Heroic Intervention, that will make boardwipes cry.

Combat before turn 10.
This sounds insane that there's no combat before turn 10 in your games and if you want to do aggro in EDH you need to be pressuring everyone before that especially the combo players.

Trading pieces like in chess ("I attack your thing- I know it makes my thing vulnerable, but I'll risk it because getting rid of your thing is worth it!")
A rapidly changing boardstate- in most of the games I've played, it becomes evident after turn 10ish whose combo is going to happen and who is crippled for whatever reason, and a pod of 4 or 5 people into a game where 2 people are racing to make their combos work and everyone else is waiting to die or simply betting on the chance to draw that one card to board wipe and make the game last another 45 min.
Most magic players won't trade valuable pieces for life(the last life point is the only one that matters). Combat isn't really interaction because of this.

What decks are being played in your group? Are board wipes the only board interaction in your ? It may just be the power difference between our two play groups, but I set aside a portion of around 15ish cards just for interaction. I also like the whittling away at each others resources back and forth slow control gameplay, so I may not be the best person on this aspect.

It is absolutely insane, like even my most durdle of decks swing in for chip damage almost every turn. Hell I forced someone to use hard removal on an Elephant token they gave me off Generous Gift because I just slapped a sword of the animist on it and swung at him every turn for no other reason than "I got it for free so I don't care if it dies" but a 4/4 was big enough that he either took it or started to chump block.

3 Turns later he was at sub 20 life and was like "I can't just keep taking hits from this so I have to Swords to Plowshares it"

I was playing today and this exact sequence happened, but it was a skullclamp on my elephant.

If you don't want long drawn out games, don't enable them. Develop a deck that plays aggressively, pick a target and start swinging. In EDH, politics are a thing and a guy wiping the board over and over to stay alive is less sympathetic than someone playing their deck as intended.

Do people really play commander games that last longer then 12 turns? I might have made it to turn nine once so far this year. Which was only because I was playing an obnoxious Stax shell.

I regularly compete with a vorinclex and Toxrill on turn 1, while the resident blue player is looking to go infinite on turn 3. I play a Jhoira weather captain cheerios and try to mill myself out on turn 2 or 3 and blow them out with aetherflux reservoir or thassa's oracle.

Fay Dalton is getting more plagiarism accusations, and some of these look blatantly obvious:

How better to pay homage to the dumpster fire card industry WotC is attempting to emulate than to make magic cards look like sports cards! Game pieces need 50 variants or players won’t want to buy more cards!!!!

@Cheeseknife
I've gathered a few folks in my DMs, but I'm in the process of writing something to submit to PG related to WotC. It'll cover MtG and DnD and maybe Pokemon, but I feel like MtG is going to be at the core of everything. Would greatly appreciate any input and relevant links. I'm trying to develop a timeline. The theme of the article will tracking how WotC went from this amazing industry that was incredible fun and enjoyment to eventually devolving into woke slop.
Did you see the video I posted earlier? He has a tight timeline on it along with pictures of tweets, receipts, etc.

Probably my favorite card is Share The Spoils followed by Flood of Mars because what fun mechanics lol. Anything that involves people ending up with each other's cards, or cards changing unwilling into other cards, is fun in my book. I don't think I even have decks with those cards though. I just like to play against them.

Use act of treason to steal their creatures and then toss them at their faces - I also stock a lot of pump creatures (especially sacrifice ones like Phyrexian Ghoul) and will balloon them up quickly then launch them. "You can't board wipe me! I board wipe me!"

Funniest shit ever, I love it. This is exactly the type of gameplay I enjoy. Thanks! I'll have to see what I can do. I really need to get out of selesnya.

Reminds me of a recent meme, I have only played like one match on Arena since Manor released because I'm not feeling the set/upset at rigged game/doing other things but it was a midweek that was Common/Uncommon only 100 card Brawl. I dust off my favorite shitty uncommon commander, Mr. Orfeo (Kardur Doomscourge also is up there, but only works in Commander and not 1v1). His gimmick is doubling one creature's power pre combat. I also decide to build around a new bullshit any-number-of-copies card Slime Against Humanity, a 3 mana sorcery that creates a bigger X/X trample ooze scaling with all copies in graveyard and exile. Get into a match, cringe alchemy uncommon commander, basically just playing orzov aggro. He goes wide and also plays discard a card creatures, I toss Slimes both times I discard because my hand is pretty good outside of ooze, he keeps adding to board, I untap with Mr. Orfeo, and a 4/4 slime against 25 life and probable lethal next turn. I swing in with the 8/4, he doesn't block. I cast unleash fury to get it to 16/4 and reduce him to 9. Then I hit him with the GG and use my last red mana to cast the sorcery speed adventure fling from NuEldraine to clock him for 16. I then close the client, my dark work was done I didn't need to play any more matches.

Fay Dalton's website is dead. Is anyone even sure Fay Dalton is a real person and not just some troon posing as a woman that exists?

It seems to only show up in these two articles:
[Archive]
[Archive]

And in a random Twitter post according to a search.

Am I retarded or is there no name attached to these articles, including the exclusive interview? Weird how they have an interview of someone by no one?

Another weird thing is Fay's crowning achievement is winning a "Pickled Ink" award in 2010. There is one article about this from a site called Down the Tubes, it says you can find Fay's work on the site of Pickled Ink, which is not an SSL secured site with archives only as far back as 2013. Wayback Machine has archives for Down the Tubes well before 2010 but the Fay article only appears in 2020 as an archive which may just be due to the nature of sites back in 2010. Pickled Ink only archives as far back as 2013.

The article is by Down the Tubes founder:
https://downthetubes.net/fay-dalton-scoops-pickled-award/ [Archive]

Despite Pickled Ink being around to today, here's Down the Tubes mentions of them:

From Magazine reaps new Pat Mills and Clint Langley thrller"

The Fay Dalton victory article obviously mentions her, the two sign ups for the awards don't mention her. The links article is a link dump with no Pickled Ink mentions.

From a 2018 article:

There aren't that many Fay Dalton articles but it's weird he mentions her every few years out of the blue like that.

From the archives of her site Nov 2, 2015, you can buy commissions by her from PickledInk?

Oh yeah, one of the other big fun tactics is to steal one person's big, massive creature, smash the face in on the person with no blockers (or weaker ones if you have trample) then fling that creature at whoever has the pillow fort.

I also decide to build around a new bullshit any-number-of-copies card Slime Against Humanity, a 3 mana sorcery that creates a bigger X/X trample ooze scaling with all copies in graveyard and exile.

I recently built a deck using cards like surgical extraction, memoricide and lost legacy to exile copies of SAH from my library to make huge oozes. Paying 3 for a 22/22 trampler is a really good deal.

The Lion-O one feels like a reach.

I forgot if its the baseball cards or the cereal ones, but they're double sided so they're not even fucking playable. They are literally the worst secret lairs imaginable.

WotC has responsed to the plagiarism accusations against Fay Dalton, and have suspended work from her, for now. / (Archived)

Fay Dalton's website is dead. Is anyone even sure Fay Dalton is a real person and not just some troon posing as a woman that exists?

The fact that Fay only got a "suspension of work", and not art getting disappeared like what happened to Terese Nielsen and Seb Mckinnon, raises the suspicion that Fay could indeed be a troon posing as another real woman, or WotC is trying to hide something even bigger. Or maybe Fay is actually one of those "diverse" people that WotC is trying so hard to force MTG on, as in either black, troon, Palestinian, disabled, a combination of those four, or even all four at once.

Could just be that they're suspending the work until they can have concrete evidence. Most likely they put that out to quell the uproar for the moment and give themselves time to investigate.

I like to imagine Fay Dalton is just the name of their art ai engine. I mostly kid, but could you imagine?
Doubt it, the persona of Fay Dalton seems to have been around for over a decade with their own site and everything. The weird part is there's only one image of them ever as far as I can tell and it looks like a photo some no name foreign model would pose for. My guess is they're a troon who likes the career as it can be done entirely remotely under a pen name and they've just been stealing art.

You'd think there'd be at least a book signing or something at some point as they did do work for comics and James Bond books, I mean hell, if I type in "EVS book signing" into google this pops right up:

One image of her potentially pops up way down the page though.
