We're probably lucky the community doesn't like it more because I'd bet there's plenty of possible degenerate stuff that could be done with it that nobody has bothered to unlock because of the rules nightmare.
Mutate is held in check because R&D has shown restraint and hasn't printed an enchantment that says "Everything has mutate now, lmaooooooooo"

When is the dead space collab? Necromorphs and the Brother moons would actually make some sense being in MTG and the markers having a ward mechanic every turn to keep your creatures from being turned against you would be kind of cool on paper.

For all the sperging the MTG devs do about ward, they sure as hell don't care to actually use it and let it come into its own identity except to shit on Hexproof, a superior mechanic in every way.

There's the Illuna Omniscience deck but it's somehow too cute for even commander and it only really works in brawl which is the fakest and gayest of formats. Vadrok also spiked a couple tournaments in standard as part of an infinite combo that was impossible to play on Arena because it was like 8 triggers per 1 damage to your opponent or something.

Most of the problem was that the individual mutate cards were kind of crap unless you were creating big stacks for multiple triggers and once you got out of standard it was easier to just do normal boggles things.

Hexproof is stronger, but I wouldn't say innately superior as a mechanic. Hexproof has been said to be the most problematic and limiting evergreen mechanic because it spirals out of control way too easily with very low cost creatures, very beefy creatures, creatures with evasion, and creatures with powerful static abilities. Ward itself is far from useless in higher power formats where low cost and no cost interaction flies around a lot more than in standard. 1 more mana might not be a ton if your removal spell costs 3-4, but if your removal spell costs 1 mana that's doubling the cost, and if your removal spell is something like one of the Evoke elementals that takes away the main reason to evoke them in the first place.

Patchwork Automaton is pretty tough to deal with in Legacy. 3 mana Swords to Plowshares, while still very good, is infinitely worse than 1. Kappa Cannoneer is more often than not functionally hexproof
Legacy 8 Cast is the closest I can get to reliving the glory days of Modern affinity with Mox Opal.

Didn't find a way to rework the gold medallion into a star of David on the blue cloak. 1/10 apply yourself.

Edit: Has anyone ever tried Lolcow edits? Or alternative Lolcow cards.
Great ideas, unfortunately I play with normies and idk if I could do that without someone noticing. The lolcow edits though is a great idea. What card would be good for Chris Chan and/or sonichu?
I ask because I kind of want to do this. I just made a sonichu themed Kandi bracelet so I'm down.

What colors do you think they would be? I mean Sonichu is in red because he is fast and white because he is law aligned, but that begs the question of Chris. I'm kind of leaning Black as he is duplicitous for his own gains. Green doesn't make sense because he isn't strong. White doesn't work because he doesn't have an ideology outside of self preservation which he adheres to. Red might work because of his short sightedness. Obviously blue is out of the question.

After much consideration, I believe Chris would be red as well. He would most likely see himself as white, since he thinks he is Jesus, but red does seem to be most fitting due to his hasty nature.
I found this that might fit:

If played in EDH it looks like the deck revolves around bouncing him to have him deal damage to any players/creatures you see fit. I see this as fitting, given the immense amount of psychic damage I take every time I have to see Chris/his antics.

Drew these up real quick. There's a lot of different ways you could go about designing Chris and cards based on him, his creations, and his antics. Could probably do multiple variants, each representing a different point in his life. Similar to Mishra and Urza in The Brothers' War set where there were versions of them when they were teens, young adults, and grown men.

If any of you guys are into the lore, the epilogue of thunder junction is really sweet. It's written by Luhrs who essentially made the Vraska and Jace relationship compelling in Ixalan. It details how Jace and Vraska managed to survive phryasis and recover together, and goes into the real reason that they did the heist.

*Glares* They had...Jace..Return to his home, a MAJOR PLOT POINT OF HIS BACKSTORY fucking off screen and are telling us about it a Motherfucking Year later.

Jesus Christ WOTC you are literally the biggest retards possible.

Now that you mention it. That art of Jace carrying Vraska through the blind eternities looks like card art. Maybe the plan was to have them in Aftermath, but that got scrapped because it would make the thunder junction twist too obvious.

Edit: I just noticed that the story was published April 1st. Literally April fools tier shit.

They may be retarded, but they have given us a crumb of a story I would enjoy more explanation of… does this mean WOTC comprehensively has the story telling abilities of chrischan or lazerbot???
