Is Jason Ye having the non-flag due to being from a "problematic" country, i.e. Taiwan, since the Taiwanese flag is often censored in other sports and is shown as "Chinese Taipei" instead, to not upset the CCP? Or are players allowed to declare themselves as "non-representing", as how some Russian Counter-Strike players have?

And I didn't know that Koreans played MTG competitively too, given how the game is more popular in Japan, and Wizards stopped printing cards in Korean a few years ago.

According to what I saw mentioned in the Twitch chat someone said that it's common for people that qualify through online play to not have a flag, I don't know how true that is though.

This is apparently what profession Magic the Gathering looks like in 2024.

Like I said earlier in the thread Modern Horizons is the set that forces soft rotations of Modern. They'll let Nadu last for another few months until they stop printing MH3.

There's not enough deodorant in a Walmart to cover the smell in that room.

There is nothing quite as flooring, as the funk in GenCon. I purposely avoided the MTG area, because I knew it would have a pungent aroma.

One minor thing I heard that was kind of interesting is that Daybreak (the current devs of MTGO) are currently releasing an API to let people access the full match data, Previously WotC had it and referenced it in bannings but didn't release it and was pretty antagonistic towards 3rd party tools in general. More transparent data is cool but some people are afraid this will cause the meta to be solved in 1 1/2 days instead of 2 in Pioneer/Modern/Legacy/Vintage/Pauper

Proof that Daybreak is unironically better at Magic than the people who Make Magic.

Can somebody explain to me why MTG Wild West has no guns, but MTG analog horror art seems to include actual fucking TVs?

"MSNBC and Twitter told me GUNZ ARE BAD" - Maro

Edit : I started listening to the Recaps of All Will be One from the Lore Podcast.

One of the Retards says directly "This is the first time Kaito has ever seen a Phyrexian" when Kaito arrives on Mirrodin.

Nope, Kaito has NEVER MET A PHYREXIAN BEFORE
NOT A SINGLE ONE
Certainly hasn't fought a FUCKING PREATOR.

It's plain in the flavor text there of a STORY SPOTLIGHT CARD!

That is one of the most epic fails I've ever seen. There is no excuse.
