Expend is a bad mechanic because it requires one more tracker to play the game. They didn't learn anything from day/night in midnight hunt.
You telling me you can't remember how much mana you've spent this turn to cast spells? What the fuck tracker do you need for that?

Expend is going to be a lot like that where you have to track all of the mana your opponent is spending as well as what they could possibly spend based on cards in hand.
Paying attention to what your opponent has/might have is an important part of Magic. However, to play Expend right (at least with all the expend cards that have been previewed) you only have to care about what mana you've spent.

ENOUGH. WITH. THE. FUCKING. COPYING!!!!!!!
Copying is cool though.

With all this furry art, is it worth it to wander over to animal control and make a thread asking if any of the furneighbors over there know who’s who based on art alone? Cross board investigation that may be more than any of us want to know feels like tempting fate, but I also can’t help but wonder.

You would need to know the actual styles. They probably have alt accounts for their fetish art.

mean, in my experience as an artist, that’s usually what people can pickup on if they follow someone because they like the style. It’s like how we can pick out a guay or neilson or mekinon piece. I can tell you even in their non magic art that it’s them. I’m pretty sure furautists know their possible artists instinctively.

In many instances? Yes.
When every card now has a short story in its text box? No, it's freakin' annoying and I say this as someone who has run a Sixth Doctor/Romana II deck designed to abuse it.

Copy effects should apply to vanilla or french vanilla tokens. And it definitely shouldn't be applying change effects like "oh this is just like that other creature except it's a 1/1 or it's a 0/2 artifact or it's a food that's also a 3/3 golem." (Or worse you mix them all together... "no that Omnath is the 0/2 artifact version, this Omnath is the 1/1 enchantment version, this other Omnath is the normal, non-legendary version...")

Possibly unpopular opinion about UB but Final Fantasy is one of the more appropriate settings for a crossover. At least relatively speaking. A Magitech setting fits since WotC made Kaladesh and Neon Kamigawa. For some reason Dominaria and Urza should also fit but I'm not going to lump the Weatherlight in with

Clouds Super Cool Motorbike {2} Artifact - Vehicle Crew 1 Haste {T} - Give another creature haste until end of turn. When Clouds Motorbike attacks, [insert strong parasitic design that will only show up in this set and will be used to sell packs]. 3/2

Scute Swarm sends its greetings.
Yes I remember the days when people would mutate onto scute swarm and then start copying their own original novels. It was bullshit then too!

Scute Swarm mutate is so 2020 grandpa we bestow Springheart Nantuko now.

Incidentally I have had to convince myself that I actually DO NOT want to brew a Risen Reef/Springheart combo deck that draws my deck and ends in casting Thassa's Oracle (of course) a non-zero amount of times.

Nobody likes Thoracle, real men use Lab Man.

If I was going to intentionally make the deck terrible I'd use Biovisionary and Dopplegang before I touched Lab Maniac

Looking at spoilers my prognostication is that Midrange, Combo, and Control are irrelevant in Standard and Pioneer going forward it's just Selesnya, Boros, and Naya aggro mirror matches. Standard will be convoke type go wide strategies, pioneer maybe convoke maybe heroic.

I finished the All will be One section of the Podcast, things that stood out.

They keep referring to Axtraxa as a Preator.
They referred to Zhalfir as a full plane instead of a nation that was a phased out of Dominaria.
They acted like Jace and Vraska were an actual couple instead of having broken up at the end of War of the Spark.
They seem to think every Planeswalker gets some sort of superpower for just being a Planeswalker.
They also seem to think that Planeswalkers are inherently good guys.

All the neowalker predictions came true. Can't wait for the next plot to be about the first 'evil' walker.

Oh no these two ladies are just so stupid they don't seem to know that Liliana is actually evil.
And Gideon died for this.

> How many did Liliana kill to get to the helvault?
Well actually that was Gisa and Geralf so you can't count that!
How many did she kill during WAR?
Well actually she tried to keep the eternal outside in the streets to keep casualties low. Isn't that sweet?

At minimum I'm willing to put it in low tens, but I'm saying she's responsible for the death of hundreds and is completely unrepentant about it. I've seen people get the death penalty for less. Or even better, another planeswalker getting benched for five years just for attacking Liliana wrong.

Doesn't matter what Gisa and Geralf did in that, Liliana directly threatened Thalia's Squad with death if Thalia didn't help destroy the Helavault.

Not to defend them but I think that a lot of magic players are of this opinion. I bought the WAR book, and I still get stuff about it wrong all the fucking time (I’m not convinced they killed Dack even though that apparently happened in the book). Also it’s the closest thing we get to a hetero couple in main line magic that the tranny faggots don’t seem to want torn apart.
