Leshrac can cast the Aged Incantation to regain his full powered spark or something.
Not that this would stop them but I think Leshrac is dead.

IIRC Bolas chucked him in one of the Planar Rifts to close it during Time Spiral....because Bolas wasn't giving up HIS spark to do it.

You are correct, he got the mask from the Myojin of Night and Bolas feigned being rotted by it before trapping him in it as he owned the original mask and Leshrac's was just a replica. Then he tossed him into the rift that Bolas created when he became a planeswalker. Though I doubt that would matter at all to them.

Wasn't it when he beat up some nameless planeswalker who left bones behind that made the Talon Gates? Or did they retcon that?
If I remember right it was back on primordial Dominaria and Bolas fought the leviathan, which was a titanic being and both were closely matched but by rotting the leviathan's mind he managed to kill it. He then spent some long period of time eating the corpse and that's what awoke his spark and created the rift because the power released during the whole thing was on the same scale as the other cataclysms that created rifts.

Ok i have to admit. Did make me laugh.

I also half appreciate this, EXCEPT they didn't use the proper art.

I really hope the smash hit of Bloomburrow after the wet farts of MKM and to a lesser extent OTJ convinces wizards to knock off the shitty pop-culture tropes and let their artists... you know, be creative again. The art of the set blows me away because it's not the samey, generic fantasy slop they've been shitting out since Origins: it's something new and something that feels distinct, even if it might not be to everyone's taste.

Frankly, I also like how the complexity has been reduced on these cards. Far from perfect, but far less overloaded, bloated, overdesigned nonsense.

This is the only SL so far that has actually tempted me.
  • the card choices are good
  • the cards are reskins rather than mechanically unique
  • the setting of the movie the cards are taken from is appropriate
  • the movie itself is good
Tim is an extra bonus for people who have been playing since the very early days, since that was apparently Prodigal Sorcerer's nickname, though others have pointed out at various times that Angus Mackenzie looks more like the movie's depiction of Tim. Angus is on the RL so even if there was some history there it ain't happening.

My biggest criticism is the fact it's split into two.
Volume 1 is:
  1. Time the Enchanter (Prodigal Sorcerer)
  2. Bring Out Your Dead! (Buried Alive)
  3. 'Tis But a Scratch! (Dismember)
  4. African Swallow/European Swallow (Birds of Paradise) [EDIT: @Stab You in the Back clarified it's double sided]
  5. We Want... A SHRUBBERY! (Three Visits)
Volume 2 is:
  1. The Bridge of Death (Door to Nothingness)
  2. Sir Bedivere's Scales (Ashnod's Altar)
  3. Castle of Aaargh (Dark Depths)
  4. The Black Beast of Aaargh (Marit Lage token)
If you were gonna make a SL based on Monty Python and the Holy Grail, it'd be hard to top this. Hits almost all the iconic scenes from the movies and I bet the secret bonus cards will fill in most of the remaining gaps. Hell they could even do a basic Swamp with a castle sinking into it with flavor text "The third one burned down fell over and then sank into the swamp but the fourth one stayed up!"

Place your bets now on which cards The Killer Rabbit and The Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch will be, and what other cards may be a secret bonus card.
My predictions:
The Killer Rabbit = Questing Beast
Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch = Engineered Explosives
Arthur, King of the Britons = Kenrith, the Returned King
Camelot = Castle Ardenvale
Brave Sir Robin = Norin the Wary
The French Taunter = Taunt from the Rampart
Message For You, Sir = Serrated Arrows
Run Away! = Evacuation
Intermission = Ghostway / Sudden Disappearance
[Famous Historian Murder Scene] = Ride Down

It's very unlikely for "we want to sell product" reasons but I can see Killer Rabbit as Phage the Untouchable. Alternatively, Massacre Girl although the types are fucked for that one. Holy Hand Grenade makes the most sense as engineered explosives yeah, but I can see any of the recent X's Sylex cards if they are worried about selling too many usable cards for some reason.

Nah, holy hand grenade needs to be the one, the only...
RATCHET BOMB! (has got it going on - to draw one I have waited for so long.)
