To be fair, that was peak jacetis league era, so you could just say anything about it and anyone in this thread would probably back you up on that fact.
I.... actually read through all that.

The Emrakul thing was just about the "peak" of that whole....

You know what, I'll back up whatever crazy shit anybody claims. I don't even care.

Jokes aside, I read most of it back in the day, and I remember liking it, but that was in the direct aftermath of battle for zendikar so it wasn’t exactly a high bar to clear in being better writing. I also remember caring more about the cards and their mechanics at the time, so some of the absolute Jank I was piloting in standard colored my views. It wasn’t Jace on Ixalan good, but it was some solid attempt at a cohesive narrative.

It's the first time Sorin is utterly powerless to stop the consequences of his own actions,
This is a retarded take.

Nahiri is the one who retard screeched onto his plane then refused to calm the fuck down to the point where Sorin had to stuff her in the Helavault because she started to threaten to wreck shit.

He's literally on Innistrad right now. Everything is in place for him to do it.
Really? I hope they don't do that...The Eldrazi are a terrible plot.

Glad I was early (and right). 2 days later:

It's a small victory getting $40 worth of cards for $1.20, but I'll take it after all the fuckin money I have dumped into this game. Any future retroframe MTGO releases I will be doing this exact same thing. Made about 150 bucks off of easy 1 mornings worth of sniping until prices went up. The retro frame staples are still sort of scarce from this set but won't be for long, I'll bet Delver stays around 8-10 though being such a prevalent staple.

It's also worth noting that Nahiri had came directly from Zendkiar, and was concerned about Sorin and Ugin. The enchantment on the eye of Ugin was designed to immediately notify Sorin and Ugin if the seal was breaking. When Sorin didn't show, she thought her mentor could be dead and went to Innistrad to confirm it, only to find Sorin alive much to her relief.
The alarm didn't reach Sorin as either the Helavault soaked it up or he was unconscious from the strain of creating Avacyn.
Nahari stated he had to hold up his end of the bargain, as it was her world she was sacrificing to protect the multiverse. Sorin was dismissive of these obligations, and never at any point apologized or tried to correct his failings.

It's silly to expect someone to be perfectly fine with being betrayed given the sacrifices Nahiri made. If you made a deal to burn a forest on your land down in exchange for compensation only to receive nothing, you would be pissed off to an immense degree.

IIRC Whatever it was that Sorin that made Avacyn and pulled the Helavault down from the moon caused Ugin's signal to not go through, and whatever the spell did tired the hell out of Sorin. If she hadn't tried to make Sorin come to Zendikar by force she wouldn't have gotten stuffed in the Helavault.

We do see that Sorin was fully willing to check on the Eye of Ugin and wasn't just fucking off with his end of the deal in the actual Zendikar block itself.

I kind of let the Sorin and Nahiri spat slide because acting like petulant children is pretty in character for old walkers. Now them having a duel invasion of Ravnica and stopping midway through to join forces to fight Bolas' army? That was absolutely terrible.

Its retarded but i like that the pair wanna hate fuck so bad now that it distracts them from all sensible actions.

It made me sad that Sorin didnt show up in March just because him getting to thrash Nahiri would have been funny

Oh 100% Sorin is a cool dude who really did nothing wrong
The only thing Sorin has done wrong is not kill Edgar Markov yet. He’s been a net positive in every story set he’s been in, and has some of the most fun magic cards I’ve played with. I built a mono-black kitchen table deck that was built around the OG zendikar Sorin and Sorin’s vengeance, and that’s some pure KINO magic.

I feel like Sorin is probably the most disrespected Planeswalker to ever be created. Besides creating Avacyn and sealing the eldrazi away( which is backstory) he's constantly getting shit on as a character.
Well it's a competition between him and Gideon. (and garruk)

Hm. Why is always the white dudes getting shit on....

This is Magic the Gathering, badguys never fucking die.

Gideon dying in War of the Spark was legitimately one of the single worst things to happen in Lore. Magic the Gathering needed and needs an outright "Goodguy" superman character desperately.

Experimented with a fun older Legacy list today. This style of deck hasn't been high tier for years and years now, but it is still very exciting to play. I believe this archetype was born way back in Apocalypse when Spiritmonger and Pernicious Deed were first printed (I actually remember when that set came out...damn I am getting old) I tested an alternate version that takes out the flare of cultivations along with some midrange pieces in order to make room for a 1x Valgavoth, 1x Atraxa, 4xReanimate/4xEntomb suite. It's kinda neat playing something like "reanimate stompy" but I think I prefer the main list below. The flares make the explorer gameplan more consistent

The Chaos Defilers were unreasonably expensive.

They did it before, and for far less. The Eldrazi were a problem, but The Three never viewed them as being intelligent more so things just feasting on planes. Bolas was far more of a threat to the multiverse.

Nahiri is also a red planeswalker, so flying off the handle and acting on emotions is her jam.
