punched that nostalgia button very well.
I think it's unfair to use Nostalgia as a reason the set is doing well.

Summons being Sagas that don't last very long
Summoners basically all interacting with The Summons in a positive manor and Yuna/Garnet BOTH having Lifelink because they are Summoner/White mage Hybrids.
Even the silly Side Quests are all pretty well on Point for the Flavor they were going for, sure most of them are just bad but both sides hit the flavor they should.

If HALF the effort were put into into getting across the story of In Universe sets through making cards flavorful and putting effort into the story, like The Kellen Arc..could have been a really cool plot if They actually Focused on Kellen. You know what the biggest complaint I have had about the story since I started reading it again?

The plot has no motherfucking focus, instead of like learning what is going on with Ixalan and Ravnica post invasion through Kellen (who is a young adventurer who naturally would have to learn things about the world around him as he searches for his father)'s eyes we flip perspective every set, and the worst part is..none of Kellen's Cards really exemplify his journey.

Wilds? Equipment focused..with one called Birthright boon to get equipment...but his weapons aren't a birthright. They had nothing to really do with Oko.

Ixilan? He isn't really exploring..he is being drug around with the Vampire group and his creature side...looks at creatures...but he isn't really looking for a creature he is looking for a Planeswalker

Murders is about the closest thing to what kellen is actually tring to accomplish. Adventure side...makes a Clue...HOLY SHIT HE IS ADVENTURING AND FINDING CLUES TO HIS FATHERS LOCATION. Now the creature side is still fucking stupid..because it blows up artifacts (They could have made him a Legendary tireless tracker..cause you know..he is tracking his father.

His Cowboy set cards don't even get discussion because they are just random bullshit.

Like imagine if we just had ONE card for him, hell print it in all 4 of his sets.

Seaching for Oko XU : Instant : Investigate X times

Kellen, Half Fae Adventurer : W - 1/2 Flying When you sacrifice a clue put a +1/+1 Counter on this creature.

Sacrifice 4 Clues (He spends 4 sets finding his father) Search your deck for a Planeswalker and put it into your hand.

Is is insanely powerful? Not really...but it's pretty flexible...and gets the point of his character across, give him Oko's Face Stripe in the art and I imagine most people would get what is going down.

I use to enjoy discussing with people I was playing with the lore of the cards they were playing and having to discuss what the set it came from was about. Then the story started going really down hill l, so I simply explained sets in single sentence explanations. Now I find people don't even bother asking about the lore behind cards anymore. Not that there really is much anymore. I was pretty amused one night when a someone was shocked to find out Kellen is in multiple sets.

Like, I can't explain in one sentence what Korona, false avatar is. To this day, I have no who or what Vivian Reid is except black woman Garruk. Wizards treats none of their characters with reverence, so why would the player? Except when it comes to their gender. I can't think of few things more removed from magic the gathering than sex. I don't really care what gender a card I'm playing is and it'll never be properly expressed in a card.

Kinnan is non-binary? He's fat kid beast fucker to me. Alesha is trans? Explains why she's dead in return in Tarkir. Narset is autistic? She has one playable card that lets me cast take an extra turn cards on combat. Unless they're going to add gender subtypes to cards or autism as a keyword, it'll never matter. People use to ask, why is Garruk black-green now, I thought he was the mono green Planeswalker. Why is Ajani Red-white in some sets and green-white in this one? Wizards barely cares about the color pie themselves now, so now players only care if a card slots in their deck or not.

And it was boring.
And she lost despite having a cheat creature.
And it was boring.

They made a Fire Mage who can shoot FIRE OUT OF HER HANDS ON A MOTORCYCLE BORING.
You would have thought at least once..she would have done the Incredibly Obvious, Dangerous..Stupid...AND COOL AS FUCK thing of having Loot steer while she used her Fire Magic to GO STUPIDLY FUCKING FAST.

It’s only cool if it references media I know. Otherwise it stimulates me too much and I get scared. I need my media references. I need my slop. I need to buy more collector boosters. Fuck.

It's a truth universally acknowledged that it requires a certain kind of magic to successfully create a new cinematic universe. It stands to reason then that for Hasbro and Legendary to successfully create their burgeoning Magic cinematic universe will take some David Copperfield level wizardry. And now, having courted BlackBerry's Matt Johnson to direct the first live-action Magic: The Gathering movie, Deadline is reporting that the studios have snapped up screenwriters Noah Gardner and Aidan Fitzgerald to help bring the billion dollar trading card game to the big screen.
Having previously worked with Alien: Romulus director Fede Alvarez on innovative all-star Apple TV+ thriller Calls, and written a slew of ultimately unrealised but nevertheless tantalising projects (including cancelled James Wan Aquaman horror spin-off The Trench), it's clear that Gardner and Fitzgerald have the juice to get Johnson's movie off the ground — but there's no doubting it'll take a hell of a squeeze to realise such an ambitious undertaking. With over three decades of rich lore and iconic characters to mine, and the fantasy TCG's anything-could-happen world of spellcasters and monsters at their disposal, the possibilities of a Magic: The Gathering movie are simultaneously limitless and also just a teeny bit daunting.
The successes of Lord Of The Rings, Dungeons & Dragons: Honour Among Thieves, and — more recently — the likes of The Rings Of Power and House Of The Dragon have long-since proven that there is an enduring hunger for epic fantasy on screens both big and small, and fantasy scarcely gets more epic than Magic. At the same time, you've only to look at the huge swing and a miss that was Duncan Jones' Warcraft movie, or the hasty cancellation of Amazon's excellent but undersupported Wheel Of Time, to see how fine the margin between the next big thing and the next cautionary tale truly is. Still, with eye-catching choices already being made on the creative side of Hasbro and Legendary's Magic: The Gathering, and probably the blankest of blank cheques at its disposal, we're cautiously optimistic that the mana may yet prove strong with this one. Planeswalker, assemble!

I can't imagine any of this stuff actually making it to release. Magic's current story is low-quality slop even by the standards of the capeshit it's copying, and there's no way they'll do any of the good stories since they don't tie into a current product release and modern WotC has nothing but contempt for their old lore.

Edge of Eternies leak happened. We're getting a new token.

They made it obvious in the other secret lair.

Of course you kind of have to do that.

I spend a lot of my time in this thread shitting on WOTC for being fuckups, but I am a fair and just Clown God so I will give Kudos when it is appropriate.

Sonic being Haste Themed makes sense, adding in Flash gives him some openness for building and Flash is less absolutely aggravating in EDH than it is in 60 Card, now you have an excuse to play Snapcaster Mage in EDH.

Edit

Snapcaster
Torrential Gearhulk
Flip Avacyn
Vendillion Clique

Lots of Classics with Flash that were never amazing in EDH that Fit in with Sonic.

He and Shadow both.

Shadow's shoes being swiftfoot boots also amuses me.

Ironically it will probably be Knuckles that is the problem. If you have 30+ artifacts at upkeep, you win.

If you have 30 artifacts you probably win anyways

In conclusion, I'm too retarded to build decks, too many cards and I don't know which to choose
build a mono-colored aggro pile, nothing above 2 mana, relstively low land count

this will let you grind for a while as youre stocking up on wildcards and packs

u want to make as many matches/hour, the shuffler and matchmaking algorithm will try to make ur winrate approach 50%

u want to also maximize the xhances of having a usable hand, and this style of deck can afford to mulligan, as long as u have at least 1 land and a buncha threats, u have a chance

edit: dont be afraid to quit a match if u think u have no way to win, its a waste of time, and these decks either win fast, or lose slowly
