I will say that you can build an interesting Sliver deck, but you have to limit yourself to two or three colors at most and have a non-Sliver in the command zone.

The most interesting Sliver deck I ever saw was a Jon Irenicus deck that would donate its "All Slivers gain..." Slivers to opponents while keeping its "Your Slivers gain..." creatures at home. It played a weird control game and was very interesting, though not very good.

I stopped playing in the mid-2010s after collecting just Angel cards for a while. Stopped somewhere right after Shadows over Innistrad.

I miss Innistrad. I miss Avacyn.

I miss when IP-mixing wasn't a thing. That Miku collab was a punch in the cunt.

Oh yeah, tell me about it, Innistrad is my favorite theme! I almost got a bunch of Innistrad: The hunt packs until I saw the day/night mechanic, thought about how much of a pain in the fucking ass it would be to manage with sleeves and promptly relegated it to "I'll maybe make a binder collection for it to look at someday" instead of to play with, because fuck that!

Oh, no that doesn't make me mad at all.
I just kind of meant in general, people love their stupid little bugs for some reason.

They are an interesting idea but I don't think they translate well to any format that isn't a 1v1.
See..I don't think they work in 1 v 1 either because it's all the same issues.

"Oh you drew ward sliver against my mono colored deck..okay then I guess."

Well if you just don’t give a shit, this new set had some really interesting angels in it.

After losing my old collection (even had the FTV) to moving troubles, I just don't have it in me to collect anymore. It makes me really sad, I loved the SOI storyline but thats where I left off.

Most Day/Night cards are bad and therefore incredibly cheap. Even the playable ones like Graveyard Trespasser are like $0.50. What you do is just get twice the copies and sleeve them front-facing/back-facing and keep the back halves in your tokens pile and switch as needed.

Or put 1 in a clear sleeve and use the "back" tokens as the deck slots then swap them out as needed. (Is what I do)

What irks me the most about them, is they would of been perfectly playable without extra hassle if you displayed the night side only, but for some reason they decided no fuck you we're going to hide the mana cost on that side.

Well, lets's be clear; this is a transforming card problem and not a day/night problem. According to the rules if there's a cost on a double sided spell you can cast either side so it would be even more confusing and at he end of day all you have to do is remember a number on the front side in case someone plays something where the cmc of the resolved creature matters. Statistically that's probably Fatal Push. I remember a lot of shame concedes in Explorer where people tried to push my flipped o-ring soldier/graveyard trespasser, payed the ward cost, and then the spell fizzles because he's 3cmc and not 0 and they didn't have any permanents leave play this turn. Arena even calls you a big fucking retard if you try it but they clicked through the warning.

I've never fully understood the thought process behind the way Wizards designs werewolves. I don't want to play "Guy Reading a Book" and then maybe two turns later he becomes "Werewolf Eating a Book", I just want the werewolf. Brutal Cathar is pretty cool though.

Slivers are mechanically just one of the single worst Tribes in the game
Elves are a lot worse. I struggle to think about any reason to play elves in commander because everything you can do with elves you can do better by not restricting yourself to this tribe. It blows my mind that Lathril, Blade of the Elves is still in the top 10 of the most popular commanders with all the power creep going on.

flourishing!.webp

Limited is, I repeat, flourishing

I am not talking power level, I am talking game play and yes you have more options by not restricting yourself to a singular tribe. However I would say that having specific support cards for that tribe can make up for that lack of options.

Leaf-Crown Visionary is no Great Henge, However it is always 2 Manas and Great Henge can easily get stuck in your hand, Also Lathril is popular because she combines elves and tokens which are two popular archtypes. She isn't the most powerful Elf Tribal Commander in her colors and never has been.

How the heck is this the heroes of the realm promo and not a version of Gollum?
