That would be a good one, But Excalibur makes it a 23/23 which is just redonkulous.
Biggest upside of Embercleave is that it gets you into red and out of dimir which is the worst colors for equipment voltron. I imagine most people are just going to play this guy as a way to have combo pieces like The One Ring (ofc), Bolas's Citadel and The Endstone in the command zone.

He's also broken and cringe in that they just changed the rules to allow spacecraft/vehicles and now a commander that partners with literally all of them and allows you to add dimir to your deck.

Scanning scryfall for fun ideas:
Eater of Virtue as your real commander (and this guy feeds it 3 keywords)
Litheform Engine (my beloved) in the command zone
Millennium Calendar turn 1 as your commander
Any of the Throne of Eldraine legendaries
Aetherspark for the "I wish I was playing brawl" commander experience
Masamune "on death" triggers
Any of the Vecna Trio to have Vecna as your commander.
Animus in the command zone self-mill
The "I can be trusted with Mindslaver in the command zone" special

Sure, but breaking Excalibur is a lot more funny because Embercleave is easy to break.

I struggle to think about any reason to play elves in commander
Umbral mantle, Sword of the Paruns

There's plenty of other ways to get infinite mana, but having it baked into a tribal strategy makes it easy to grab components and payoffs. Sure, you could throw down $20 for worldly tutor, or you could throw down $2 for elvish harbinger or $0.25 for wirewood herald. That said, I will agree that the GB variant really isn't that good, and in particular Lathril is not that strong. She's the epitome of "but think of the upside!"

Is MTG Arena an enjoyable experience if I don't want to give WotC money? I installed it because I heard it has Limited as a format and but then I found out they want me to pay per pack for playing draft just as if I would be playing the paper version and that's just asinine. Is the rest of the game similarly jewed up?

If you like draft and are good at it, yes. Its pretty easy to go infinite in draft.

If you like using one deck to grind the ladder, yes. Putting a single deck together and using it to grind resources is pretty easy.

If you like brewing random trash and assorted nonsense (me), no. You'll get your wallet reamed.

Eh, pseudo-infinite. When you're in the lower brackets, if you have any idea what you're doing you can easily hit the break-even level (where you lose ~100 gems) and drafting with 10k gold becomes a way to recoup the small losses alongside just getting the net-positive win-levels.

As you march up the ranks, you will start playing against people who actually have a clue and around diamond-platinum you can expect to start crawling closer to the 'good' winrates (which are usually 55%+), which isn't enough to sustain you from a few losses. So at the start of a season it's easy to keep rolling, but it drops off after a point.

Notably the best-of-3 queue also sucks balls because it's not really ranked and the rewards suck, so the good players are all in Best-of-1. Which has a hand-smoother. Which means if you splash red, you're going to draw that one-of mountain a fuckton.

How the heck is this the heroes of the realm promo and not a version of Gollum?

Specifically given to the Lord of the Rings Dev team. Apparently the stupid P/T is a reference to the One Ring serialized edition. Besides, they have to be really careful with partner, and considering cards can't have downsides its a bit tough to balance "this huge pool of cards can now be your commander". It would have been cute if they did a Gollum that partnered with the ring, but I guess they figured their crap uninteractive "tempted by the ring" stuff fit well enough.
By the way this standard is gonna suck cock.

Flash Dimir shit vs Vivi Combo forever.
Even worse knowing that they probably play with kids gloves for crossover sets. One Ring took way too long to get banned from modern, and that was for a set they tried to make the tie-in cards not modern viable. Though I imagine standard has been a mess for a while, so I don't think its much of a loss.

I need a QRD on why I keep seeing people say this. I have never watched the show
So this chick is a lady called Yue, she was a Waterbending Tribe Princess lady.

Some Fireland dude killed a fish that housed the spirit of the Moon..which fucked with Waterbending because "Moon affects tides", Yue became the new Moon spirit.

She was also the first love interest of one of the main characters, to which way later in the series he was talking about Girl Troubles with another main character...and we got the line.

"My first Girlfriend became the Moon"
"Thats....rough buddy"
