Yeah but its not like the Aetherspark Matters on a grand scale (till Bolas eats it to get his spark back)

Also was playing arena cube and I was in game 3 of match 3..trying to play for 3 and 0 and the following opening happened

Opponent - Swamp

Me - Island, Cast Tamiyo, Inquisitive student with Brainstorm in hand to flip her on turn 2 (LIVING THE DREAAAM) and I have 3 counters in hand to protect her so I am gonna fucking ult if opponent can't pressure through her ability to make things 1 less power when they attack

Opponent - Swamp - Casts the saddest Bitter Blossom ever.

[EDIT] To be fair on MKM the drop isn't that bad, but still it brings me joy to see capeshit getting the cold shoulder. I wish a very get fucked to all speculators.

The boom and bust is retarded, as the price spike was always absurd but the crash being because some streamer had a poor case opening is laughable.
 
I plan to go to prerelease tonight, but I’m pretty sure this set is going to be hot garbage in everything that isn’t a commander game. Hopefully this crash and burn will be the end hung WOTC needs to see they should be putting more energy into the in universe sets.

Honestly I would take those in the current standard environment over the slop we’re getting. I actually want them to make a set powered at Mercadian Masks level. Like do a hard reset on the powerlevel of standard magic. Just print fucking 8+ mana sorceries that do an interesting but not too powerful effect. Don’t do anything commander related tied to the set. Make the draft environment balanced to a strong degree. I’d honestly start buying product again to support that if WOTC would make that move.

Yeah no, i can complain about current design but i do not want to go back to a time when the only removal spells were Abrade, A bad hero's downfall and Vraskas Spite
 
It's remarkable that the anguished unmaking was so effective, but I recall that there was hardly any removal in that block until Fatal Push. I did like Kaladesh, though that was a fun set.
 
I dont think unmaking saw play in Kaladesh and Amonkhet era, the mono red deck preyed on the life loss pretty hard.

I am curious to see how turnout for this prerelease will compare to others… unlike other UB sets the appeal to demographics is mostly those outside of the mtg sphere, so I imagine it’ll be pretty rough. Kindly update us friend
 
This whole set has been a big whoop of nothing.

Even for my not so good sets there usually a stack of pre-orders for stuff.

I had 2 people pre-order this set, hopefully this points to WOTC that if they want to do Universe Beyond stuff it still has to be Magic adjacent.

I don't even know that the theme is the issue, though it's definitely a problem. The Spidermans mechanic is nonsense that traditionally only plays well in draft so they had an uphill battle to try to convince the constructed players that actually open the packs to buy in and the rest of the set didn't get their either.
