Don't we... still have Avatar this year? I swear I don't understand what drooling baboon wizards put in charge of their marketing department.

The avatar previews completely eclipsed the Spider-Man ones. Speaking of, looks like this set is fucking bombing - good. There's, I think, two cards I want from the whole thing.

There are lorwyn spoilers already!? Brih spider hasnt released nor Avatar. Holy shit i dont know how people have the stamina to keep getting bombarded with spoilers.


That aside im looking forward to see how Lorwyn will shape up.

If ever you wanted proof that digital brushes can't entirely emulate physical ones, it'd be this artist trying the old Llorwyn style out here. Kithkin are supposed to look weird, but even the grass has uncanny valley. It's also kindof funny how that's supposed to be a strict-upgrade to Figure of Destiny, but GW is a way worse pair for an aggressive 1-drop level-up than is RW.

Those special skins are also like... it just looks like slush Eldraine bonus sheet art.

I was suspicious if WotC was trying to undercut Spiderman with Avatar since it appears they didn't get the digital license. Could use the sales numbers negotiating back with Disney to get Arena some other IP since they no longer have a viable IP themselves.

If they spoil more Lorwyn before we release Avatar, I'm convinced they're ADHD retards. I'm glad I've stopped buying new slop and play OS. Proxy all you want, as long as it looks and plays like actual Magic.

Is the whole set going to just be member berry slop or are they actually going to make something new that fits in the plane?

I'm very confused. Before Sygg was UW -> UB. Now its transform from U -> W? So they just transform between good halves? As long as we at least get racist elves/kithkin I guess that would be something. But something tells me the elves are gonna be "redeemed" so still GW, or at least zero edge.

Eh, I mean. They're fine, if piloted correctly. Yes, against degen CEDH thoracle-combo they struggle, because everything that isn't degen combo struggles against it - hence why pubstompers all play it.

The trouble is that the UB faeries deck was completely unfocused. One of the commanders cared about playing instant-speed, and it goaded things. Another offered a tribal pump... and an aristocrats payoff? So you had this weird mishmash of tempo, tribal, aristocrats and there wasn't enough glue to make it work.

That's not a problem. Fairies had at least one premade deck and is a much more universal tribe. Kithkin ain't got shit, not even a dedicated tribal legendary. At least one would be in the main set, no doubt. But it would be type-2 tier creature.
