Do people find their pods develop a unique meta? Where you might put cards in a deck specifically because you know how others in your pod will act, even if they're bad cards outside your pod?
I think that is inevitable, everyone has little deck building quirks that you will adapt to.

Does anyone know how to search on scryfall:

Old border versions of stuff printed in the modern frame?

For example: if I pull up masters 25...how can I get it to just show the cards that were printed in old frames

FYI for future reference.

It's not everything, but it's a useful starting point. Anyway, for you it would be:

So for you it would probably be is:old e:A25

Oh yeah.

Had a friend who liked Exile shenanigans leading to me using this tsp-35-pull-from-eternity.jpg

Had another who was a hybrid of Timmy/Lifegain leading to me using Poison, but usually just this som-80-tainted-strike.jpg

Remembered that i had a Marisi laying around and decided to brew a goading deck. Gotta say i had more fun than thought i would. I like the mechanic since it can make games chaotic. Seeing a cloud voltrom deck player targetting his buddy against his will and killing was enjoyable to see, doesnt quite hit the high of Milling, but it gets me there.

I've had a brief period of experimentation in which I've put various subpar "can't be countered" cards in my deck because of one dude who used an obnoxious amount of counterspells. It didn't really do much difference because you can't really beat something like this with a few cards in 99 unless you build Surrak Dragonclaw or something and outside of that scenario these cards were basically useless. His deck on the other hand was a direct reaction to an another deck in the pod which loved to abuse sac loops and was nearly unstoppable once it got the engine going.

Why only unstable? No other un cards?
I bought a full case of Unstable on release, so it was more out of convenience than anything else. I do have a few unhinged and unglued cards that I’ve got mixed in, as well as the conspiracy draft matters cards and conspiracies. When unfinity came out I toyed with rebuilding the thing with the space cards but I really don’t want to have to refigure the balancing that would be needed for the new stuff to fit into it all.

ETA: I looked at that commanders herald article, and is it just me or does the author have the unfortunate fate of looking like Secret Gamer Girl??

Fuck balance, just cram in fun cards.

What's unique is, she's a not very important character from an unpopular set from 20 years ago, hardly any reprints, no new versions. My question is why?
I started in Journey to Nyx and quickly got pulled into commander with my friends when C14 dropped. I only discovered her because at that time she was a great all purpose include and commanded a decent price tag. What qualified as an amazing creature back then for non-CEDH was much more innocent, and in her you have a bounce effect for abusing etbs, a combat trick, a trigger that repeatedly can generate you value, and she's annoying to remove because of regen. All for a respectable 5-6 CmC. These days that's par for the course but for the time it was 😘 magnifique. Wayne Reynolds being the artist was just the icing on the cake.

Maybe it was because she was popular in a casual format that she was exposed to noobs or friends of enfranchized players.
