Oh that was in MaRo's latest.
Makes sense but I think shows another possible issue, that certain sets of old will have to get chopped up or else they can't fit in blockless magic. Which sounds extremely obvious writing it down so IDK why I expected 4 sets crammed into 1 was going to be an amazing set.
>Yugioh Dead
Yugioh is an interesting mess, part stemming from being an eternal format. Old cards don't rotate, so the only option becomes power-creep and tribals to prevent generic strength. Its got positives and negatives over MtG, negative definitely being the blocks of text that isn't even segmented. But it is probably more interesting to watch with how bombastic it is.

Say something mean about me based on my choice of Commanders

Tawnos: If you want to recreate gatcha get Atla Palani you degenerate gambling addict.

Mishra: You hope to commit war-crimes but you wind up reluctantly getting rid of your tokens, Inalla is the same way but better.

Karn: Just because Aftermath was a failure doesn't mean that everything else in it is.

Raven Man: You think it's discard but it's actually aristocrats.

Gadwick: There's a inappropriate reaction to your commander being answered that definably got you banned in the store and some dirty looks.

Soul of Windgrace: Why abuse bounce lands when you should use Bounce detergent from the laundromat.

Teval: You bought into the hype and you're a trend hopper.

Zurgo: You think it's aristocrats but it's actually combat.

Be'lakor: Be'lakor is a based tribal deck and that's all.

Mishra: You hope to commit war-crimes but you wind up reluctantly getting rid of your tokens, Inalla is the same way but better.
Inalla is meh - you have to spend the mana to do that AND it has to be a cast.

Mishra is awesome. You can literally just stick a command sphere on the board and then every turn he gives you mana AND a card draw. (it's like a clue and treasure had babies!) And if you don't need the mana, hit someone in the face. I still play his precon unchanged but don't think I haven't considered making a really degenerate aristocrats out of him...
(oh yes cryogen relic... i will make my friends regret trading you to me...)

Mishra is awesome.
IIRC Mishra is absurdly powerful.

He can abuse the fuck out of shit like Icor Wellspring and Spine of Ish Sha and you can do shit like "Put down Simulacrum Synthesizer, copy it with Mishra..which gets you a Karnstruct..then in main phase 2 cast an artifact and get 2 constructs off that"

All of which is in the precon (nothing's more hilarious than outramping the simic player in grixis colors) and the one card that isn't... oh look what I pulled out of a tunder junction collector booster... (because it was cheap)

Yeah I keep debating on cashing the card in or playing it.

Yeah you could run Obeka or Sundial and keep your machines around if you want. But there's so many great artifacts that do "leave the battlefield" stuff nowadays why would you want to?

Yeesh does anyone play anything other than commander? Blekkkk
Standard has been shit for over a decade

Pioneer is a joke

Modern is shitty half the time and is expensive

Legacy and Vintage are stupid expensive.

What the fuck else is there to play?

Pauper, also apparently Value Vintage

Commander players are the overwhelming majority at my shop but they're slowly starting to branch out. We're working on getting local playgroups for Pioneer and Pauper together (because it's cheap), and from there potentially Modern.

Value Vintage
Now that's a nice fucking format. Don't forget Premodern.
