Well, in terms of constructed formats and professional interest, yeah. Haven't its sales figures been kindof ridiculous, though, across virtually all of its products? Honestly, hasbro using wotc to make up for its losses by having wotc fart out a million secret lairs didn't really bother me, since pure luxury items are something I could not care less about. But with this, like... yeah, it'll sell out the instant it hits shelves. Like double masters. Honestly, scummy as it is, maybe it -is- smart business to do this once or twice for them, then to pull off before the iron's too hot.

I agree with the point that it'd be stupid to print a functional copy. But honestly, it's a fantasy game - why not just reprint them WITHOUT the walking dead art? Negan can just be some fat fuck on whatever plane and have whatever art. Nothing about the card's title screams 'AMC tie-in' to me.

That is what we are told, however much of that is based in 2 spots.

Commander..and Arena. Half of the entire year dedicated to "Commander" Products has been sunk by covid. We are about a month away from The first purely commander focused set being released, a draft-able set, and Arena? Arena is entirely profitable off the backs of Whales and Content creators and in the past 2 weeks had a disastrous Mythic Championship event where they had to re-broadcast it in it's entirety because the WOTC stream went completely down..and had to do an emergency ban because they once again shat out a bunch of cards that are basically impossible to play around.

"Banning Uro will fix standard" No..not even close. Uro is good..it is powerful however without a ton of other powerful cards beside it..it wouldn't carry a deck. Uro has been a great enabler..but he has rarely ever been the card that really fucks things up. Nissa, Hydroid Krasis and now Omnath..all were the real problems. People are talking about Banning Uro from Modern..which is probably fair because Fetch Lands are really good for him..however will that fix the Goodstuff pile? Probably not..because it will still have The Cryptic Sanctuary Lock.
 
The real problem with Magic is the soyboys and trannies in Playtest.

Too busy tugging their lady cock to daddy twink fae to realize how fucking broken he was or whatever the fuck was broken in Theros that they missed.

And then! AND THEN IF PEOPLE LIKE THE MECHANICS, THEY CAN PRINT THEM IN BLACK BORDER WITH APPROPRIATE NAMES/ART!

We're almost assuredly going to get Harry Potter skins for Strixhaven, and that's... okay. But! BUT!

This Secret Lair shit? New, exclusive shit that's shit?

No. We as the player base, we can't let them do it. We can not let them do it.
 
Uro was fucked because it was literally the best card against most decks

Control didnt have a reasonably costed exile counterspell like Dissipate so Uro was just a recursive threat that they cant reasonably deal with as he just keeps coming back.

agaisnt Aggro he was a growth spiral that gained you life, and when you played him for real he just won the game by himself by beign a giant idiot and also gaining you 3 life and a card who closes games in 3 turns.

and midrange either ran blue green and was runing uro, or it was out valued and out ramped.

also

Wotc need to stop printing draw a card on every single fucking creature they make though.

and finally

Im fairly certain were now on what, 5+ sets running with U/G having one of the best cards in the set released in it.

Everything broken about Uro is broken with Krasis as well, and Uro has some level of actual counter play..Krasis is an on Cast Trigger that you (largely) can't interact with because it is a triggered ability, If you didn't have Growth Spiral, Nissa, Krasis.

The only Reason Krasis doesn't see play is because Ramp isn't fast enough in Modern. (no Amulet Titan isn't Ramp, it is Combo) Uro was the most powerful creature in standard (Sorry, Omnath is far more powerful) but it is hardly a problem if it didn't have a massive group of Over the top effects it could be paired with. "The most powerful creature in standard" is a pretty low bar most of the time.

In Modern he is almost purely a problem because of Fetch lands making his escape ability far lower. Mystic Sanctuary is a far more problematic card in modern than Uro is.

krasis is great in legacy simic though. can't deny it. Any on-cast draw is good there
 
Honestly, I played a fair amount this past weekend, and the presence of Omnath decks has been dwindling. Seems more like a Gyruda situation where it dominated for a good while but now the meta is adjusting. As long as you have decent removal for the cobra and Omnath, or counters for the Escape/Genesis Ultimatum, you're pretty golden. Personally, I've been slamming monoG and have a roughly 60% win rate against Omnath decks, out of ~20 game sample size.

WOTC has to be happy about it at some level as a divided fanbase is one that can't give them the full-powered dickpunch they need to calm their tits regarding power creep. This last year or so has been nuts about it. Remember when the Dominaria Teferi was considered to be a huge problem and a card so pushed that it had Modern legs?

They will do a secret lair that has standard-legal cards - and I'm not talking Godzilla variants, but full-blown exclusive cards that have plenty of power behind them. I'm thinking they pull that lever by the end of 2021. They're grabbing for money at more and more frenzied rates, and it looks like a fucking pump and dump.

Ironically what struck me is that it seemed like they got into such a mindset of "these are good cards!" they didn't bother to plan on whether there were synergies within them. (like in an Omnath deck - Fires of Invention is just a drag because you'll have so much mana the free cast isn't worth the 2 limit) Unless it was in the last game, I'm shocked wilderness reclamation wasn't seen more often.

Oko is still insane though. It seems like by far one of the better decks would be a pure black cat-oven filled out with every black kill planeswalker spell there is. (I count 9 in pure black.)

Actually with how much I see people complaining about planeswalkers, I'm surprised to not see more decks running more card tech against them.

Man sparkhunter manticore looks like it would be fun to toss against the fairy.

Magic has been so DESPERATE for a competent female in the community, in the BROADEST SENSE, that trannies are simply trying to fill the void that has remained vacant for decades before a real woman finally steps in. It's no understatement, if you are a legit XX chromosome female that isn't obese and face isn't wrecked, there is a vacant throne waiting for you. All you have to do is just give a single shit about playing the game and kind of liking the lore as a premise(I'm an interdimensional wizard constantly battling other wizards) and you will have a multi-million fan base in 3 months max. It's amazing that no woman seems to see this free kingdom for the taking, and either can't or won't play the game. At this point though, I wish one would JUST TO PURGE THE TRANNIES. Flop a few cards, play a few rounds online, talk about your favorite dragon on social media, pine that you wish you played during Arabian Nights or Legends days, and you would be a multimillionaire.

I believe in gatekeeping, but the time for keeping women out is long past. Women, please come in and cleanse us of the dudes in dresses, I'm begging you. We don't have the walls up to even attach a gate to anymore. Show up, talk the talk and pied-piper these soyboys and dickcutters out of here!

Did Melissa del Toro give up the throne? I thought she was the queen currently. She was a feature on Enter the Battlefield.
