Nope, because last year was the most profitable year for Magic. The only way it will end is if the company over-extends and crashes and burns. That sucks man, any chance that theyll cool it on the crossover stuff?
Well, for one, we don't even know if these crossover products will be compatible with Magic the Gathering. My understanding is that they're taking the Magic game system and rules applying it to these new IPs. Instead of tapping mountains to generate mana, you're tapping psykers to generate power for the Emperor or a Demon Lord. Psychic power, plasma energy, or whatever resource system they use might not even correspond to the existing Magic color pie. Its way too fucking early to assume that you're going to be able to drop a Primarch on WotC's latest tranny planeswalker.Less that and more that it will water down the game itself and go from "MAGIC: The Gathering" with magic concepts and whatnot to.... "RANDOM IP: The Consuming" where the Ogres just don't exist and the decks go from 4 people sitting down with the Elder Dragons that started the EDH Format..to "Captain Jack Sparrow vs Harry Potter vs Rey Skywalker vs Barak Obama"
Conceptually, the infinite realms thing is not a bad idea. If you play Magic and like Warhammer, you can now play games of Warhammer Commander using a rule set you're familiar with, as opposed to having to learn the rules to a brand new CCG. Whether the product is successful is, of course, going to depend upon the execution and not the prospective gnashing of teeth at Magic players butthurt over a fucking Secret Lair release from Current Year minus 1.

The BLM pandering is doing a great job of making me an actual Racist.View attachment 1957874
This was on arena today. I love the lore on the cards. Learn 2 code gamerz.

The worst part is that it just looks like standard Magic art and not something that would warrant a premium price. I haven't heard anything about the "value" of the cards in the product, but based on art alone I don't know why anyone would buy this. The art on some of the Secret Lair: Black is Magic cards is almost insultingly bad, but I have noticed a downward trend in that for a while. I wonder what the sales of this set will be compared to other Secret Lairs.
What, you mean you don't like Not!HarryPotter plane as a concept? I liked it better when planes felt less like Kingdom Hearts worlds.Am I the only one cringing my head off at the entire concept of this set?
I still find it amusing that despite their intense desire for "diversity" and "inclusivity", current Wizards would never create a place as cool and earnest as Jamuraa was in the Mirage block. These days it's just gimmicks all the way down. What, you mean you don't like Not!HarryPotter plane as a concept? I liked it better when planes felt less like Kingdom Hearts worlds.
I wonder if she will face any repercussions for betraying the Gatewatch and getting Gideon killed.
