I want them to release a Tau deck that's just mono-blue Draw Go control or something so Tau can be obnoxious in this game, too.

I legit Hope The Shard of Mal'dragoth that is sleeping under Mars gets a card so I can sneak it into play with The Ur-Dragon.

As a big fan of both 40k and MtG I'm very pessimistic about this product. We already know one's going to be Ultramarines(White/Blue), probably lead by Calgar, maybe Girlyman. I'm guessing Space Wolves(Fell handed? Green/Red), Black Legion(Abbadon, with a very toned down Chaos flavor, Black/Red), Sisters(with the new hole, Black/White), and Orks as the only Xeno(Thraka, Mono-green, don't fuck it up that big Wizards)

Colorless Necrons artifact would be too fun. We'll probably get the other factions in the Secret Lairs accompanying it, like mini packs to start a commander deck, Silent King with 4 Necron Cards, Farsight with 4 Tau, etc)

Eh, they got the majority of the DND stuff right, The Tarrasque and Bahumut are really the only WTF misses and Tarrasque card is mostly the way it is because they couldn't really push it harder without causing issues in Legacy and Modern, Legacy specifically does not need a "Hard to interact with Fatty with Haste and Trample that is fetchable with Natural order" Giving a Combo deck something better to cheat a game out post board that is stronger than Progenitus can't be a good idea.

Eh, I'd my sense of the set was 50/50, they definitely did some good stuff, but I think also being a standard release handicapped them in several ways(Dungeons being a major one). Maybe the DnD Commander Legends will hit a bit more. I do comparatively think it was
better than I feel like standard sets have been flavor bombs since... Eldraine? Stryxhaven and Kaldheim we're bad.

Eh I didn't like Eldraine, I honestly think the last "really good" flavor set was the pair of Ravnicas before war of the spark shat on everything, and to be honest I think Dungeons are under-rated power wise. Most of the creatures are over-costed is it's real issue, but there are a few that are pretty on spot for their mana-costs without the venture ability so the dungeon effects are just icing.

So, I recently built a slightly modified version of this Cube, and I'm having a blast with it. I've also started playing the Premodern format (everything Ice Age through Scourge, except for the supplemental / beginner sets and a small banlist) and I'm having a blast with that too. I think it's peak Magic for me: the cards all look like Magic cards, the power level hits a nice sweet spot, there's no insane card advantage creatures or planeswalkers or whatever other nonsense they put at mythic these days...it's great. Those two things are probably my favorite thing to be doing in Magic right now.

The innistrad midnight hunt spoilers started yesterday. Time to bitch about them?

A black tranny "angel." God help us all.

Innistrad? You mean the place they ruined by stuffing Eldrazi into it, has a Mediocre signature mechanic and can't have any of the best cards from the first set reprinted because they would be OP In standard?

(:_( Wake me up for Kamigawa Nigger Dynasty.

I think it is amusing they're continued effort to find a way to have "flashback" on creatures. Embalm was... meh. Disturb seems a bit easier on the whole and designed to fit flavor-wise in more possible areas.

I'm baffled at why apparently multi-kicker is back, but we're not going to call it multi-kicker. WTF?

Also why the hell does phase keep popping back up!

Are slivers good currently?
I'm no expert but I think they are playable modern. They just added them to Historic (which is the arena "old card" format) but they are completely irrelevant because everything that isn't Tibalt's Trickery is irrelevant in Bo1 because they added some cascade cards and you just play a deck with no cards less then 4 cmc other then Tibalts and so when you cast the cascade sorcery you hit tibalt's every time. I think they might be OK in Historic Brawl because The First Sliver is a decent commander, you have to play the deck with changelings though because there aren't enough slivers to finish the deck.

The New Flashback transform thing is kind of nifty, even if I kneejerk hate Graveyard shenanigan effects. (Can we..try a 2B version of Zombify plz? why can't mono black have one legitimately good Reanimator spell?)

Phase is a new evergreen because they felt that Blink effects being common had some unintended consequences *cough Saheeli Cat cough*

As for Multi-Kicker..they do that ALL the fucking time. Why doesn't Tireless Tracker have Landfall? It is the second most annoying thing that the design team does.

I don't mind the angel or the werewolf, the worst thing about them is the angel's effect being another meh white effect regarding life going to 0. Definitely not my jam. Really hope we get an extended break from nico aris or whatever their name was.

Regarding midnight hunt, only stuff I'm really looking forward to is new Gisa, bonus zombie support, and the chick from the commander precons that is coven-based. Might make me consider building Selesnya edh deck again (my Rhys the Redeemed deck was a travesty). Wilhelt's cool too, might make him the lead for the aformentioned zombie deck.

My biggest concern is that the artifact that swaps day/night will be too much a bomb at prerelease. 3CMC artifact that turns off a boardstate for 3 sounds a pain, even moreso in draft. I do prefer coven over madness, and it's an infinitely better idea than party (that last zendikar is a giant waste).

Pretty low bar, and Coven still has most of the major problems party has.

Party is a bottom five mechanic.

Edit : Also pretty Top KEK thing.

D'rizzit doesn't interact with Party, so the Wolverine of DND..doesn't trigger the Most DND themed MTG mechanic.

Yeah, it's kind of cringe they didn't lean into trying to fix the party mechanic in AFR, the biggest problem with them no longer doing blocks is that mechanics like that will rarely if ever show up outside of standard because there are like 40 cards that give a shit about party and most aren't that good. There is a good Bant Party deck floating around in 22 Standard right now but I won't craft it because the chances I use any of the cards in any other deck ever is nil.

Also canonically Drizzt's type should be Elf Warrior Barbarian Berserker Ranger Rogue Scout
