Chris obviously isn't making any art, so why don't we do it ourselves.

DA RULEZ:

Materials limited to the following because I'm curious about how you'll work with the limitations
- pen, black. Any pen. Ballpoint, fountain, rapidograph, permanent, washable, dip, india, iron gall, etc. Just black. Can be dilute.
-- holding it as Chris does is optional (not recommended)
-- personal rec: Sharpie Pen Black, F or M (2 for $4)
- Crayola Markers, 10 standard colors ($2)
-- rinsing and diluting them is fine, as long as you don't add new ink to them to change their color. Keep the TRUE, ORIGINAL color formula. They're really super saturated, so I like to draw the excess ink out into some distilled water and store it in jars for later use. Makes the colors not swallow the line art, and are overall easier to work with.
-- I know he used more than the standard 10, but I'm going for limitations here.
- 8.5 x 11" cartridge paper (FIVE BUCKS FOR FIVE HUNDRED SHEETS AT THE WAL MART)
-- personal rec: copy, 24# (copy is more resistant, and inkjet is more absorbent). Sleek, dense paper is best for waterbased ink. And alcohol based ink, but that is AGAINST DA RULEZ.

Just draw stuff kinda-sorta in the style of our inspiration, da big See Dubya Say. You can try to perfectly emulate his style, or just pay tribute to it. Or completely do your own thing with his materials.

Of course I'll be contributing soon, but I have nothing new or good atm. But I'll come up with something.

Good topics include 80's-90's nostalgia, fakemon, laughable fanart for really bad cartoons from that time period, legos, hoards, an f in english class, stuff Chris would draw if he could be assed to pick up a pen. Or stuff you wish he would draw. Or stuff that would be ironic. Or whatever.

I accept this challenge!

I was planning to try to draw something CWC-style anyway, now I have another reason to do it. I'll go invest in some crayola.

This isn't my work, but I still think it warrents being here. Over on DA, Manajerkop decided to make a few Sonichu test pages.

This sounds fun. Luckily I found some Crayola™ markers when I was going through my art stuff last night. :D

OK, first I created 2 new CWCville villains. You can see them drawn in my style on the fan art thread here: viewtopic.php?f=8&t=20&p=72022#p72022
They are Dark Meg-Chan and THE SNIDER.
And here's my attempt to draw them CWC-style hand drawn original, and colored with a fresh set of Crayola markers I bought just for doing something on this thread (a whole $2!)

In true CWC fashion, I did break Da Rules a bit. The 10 pack of Crayola markers did not have a flesh tone colored marker, just a pink that was way too bright. I know Chris has a wider selection to work with since he uses a flesh tone colored marker, so I used one I had handy.

I have another idea I want to draw, but I need to do something more productive for a while.

I :heart-full: it!

Actually, now's the best possible time to get Crayola products with back to school shopping. YOU TOO CAN DRAW LIKE THE MASTER.

Great posts so far! Chris-Chan would be proud!

Alas, my computer is being buzzy and cranky and it doesn't help that my dominant hand has been out of order for a few days (apparently using a hedge trimmer rendered it really swollen, stiff, crampy, and terrible. I can't even read my own handwriting)

Oh, and btw, found out- Don't extract ink from waterbased markers and store it, turns out you end up with SITB (google that). Which is when nasty stuff starts growing in the bottle, and giving off a sweet/sour odor. And the markers can get the stuff growing in them, too (Alcohol markers don't have that problem)

Okay I reached into my brain and pulled out a fakemon from a million years ago, can't remember if it had a name. One of many CWC fan comic ideas I'm entertaining and trying to not procrastinate on does not take place on lined paper, but copy paper with Crayola markers. It has him carrying around a lego minifig for him to project himself into to have tiny little 2" tall adventures with fantastic beings in fantastic locations and macro zones. Better grind up my drawing skills. Oh, and he also carries a hotwheels car OC thing I made up because in this thing Sonichu hasn't been thought up yet.

did I mention I appropriated the character of CWC for my own use? Yeah.

on the last one, I had wiped the point of the blue marker with 70% isopropyl (I'm kinda hoarderish like that. I hate waste. Siiiighhhh), so it's acting a little weird, and I lightly sketched with a Noodler's Ahab with some diluted teal black of some sort (Quink or Pelikan 4001 or something)

This is fucking sweet I should totally do this. I dunno if we have any markers lying around

I have a super bad headache right now and my right hand is still messed up STRESS SIIIIIIIIIIIIGGGGGHHHHHHHHH

And I can't find any legos

So I drew cwc legos.

cwclegos.jpg

Using only red, blue, green, and yellow. I think those and black and white are the classic lego colors, but I can't remember right now.

edit: oops silly me, forgot the picture. Hee hee.

With Megasparce, I actually cheated a bit and sketched it with pencil and used ballpoint pen over it.

I also used crayons...

And yes, unlike Chris, I actually have a life hence why no Megasparce.

It's a fun break to draw something intentionally bad imitating Chris' style. But for the challenge of it I tried to draw one of his characters decently using only the materials listed above. These markers really suck and I don't like only having the default 10 colo-
“Yo Sakamoto, I’m really happy for you and Imma let you finish, but CWC is the best artist of all time. OF ALL TIME.”

Can I use MS Paint? I don't have a scanner to upload home drawings but I have heard that I am pretty awesome at copying on Paint.
For example:

I did that on Paint one night while drunk. If so, I want to recreate his #0 cover art.

Please? With a great big Yoshi berry on top of a Fanta soda? 8-)

That's not the challenge here, but you can always post it on the fan art thread viewtopic.php?f=8&t=20
Or start a new "Recreate a scene from Sonichu" thread. It's not like we're having a contest with prizes.
So do it anyway.

I can try this, could use this as practice to improve my "skill"
