Sonichu Making Chris's Characters Interesting

I'd get rid of Chris altogether, or have him strictly as a background character.

Sonichu - He's strong, fast and his lightning attacks are powerful, but he's also arrogant and immature. He dreams of being the leader, and maybe some day he will be, but he's got to learn humility and wisdom first. He has a crush on Rosechu and will do anything to impress her.

Rosechu - To give some balance, she's faster than Sonichu and more agile. She's a fun person to be around, but this masks her ability as a level-headed strategist, which is her greatest value to the Combo. While she thinks Sonichu is kinda cute, his immaturity and clinginess annoys her.

Angelica - She's a very kind, patient individual, and very much the heart of the group. This is her greatest strength, but often her greatest weakness, as she'll often go with her heart rather than her brain.

Wild - He's a quick thinker, but impulsive. He can find a solution to a problem in no time, but sometimes doesn't think it through. He's also a bit of a hot-head, which brings him into conflict with characters like Rosechu and Punchy.

Punchy - The most physically strong of the group, and the best fighter. However, he isn't arrogant, and sees it as his duty to protect his friends. As such, he's extremely brave. Sometimes he's a little too selfless for his own good, and is a bit too quick to blame himself for failure.

Bubbles - Fan fiction tends to portray her as a bit of a ditz, and actually I think there's space for a character like that. She has a good heart, but she'd rather be having fun.

Blake - Reflecting his dark origins, Blake is a deeply conflicted individual. He wants to do right, but he tends to see the worst in everyone, and can be a bit of an extremist at times.

Magi-Chan - The de facto leader of the Chaotic Combo due to his wisdom, intelligence and his magical powers. He tends to take a supporting role in missions, overseeing and planning the bigger picture.

Graduon - Centuries ago, Graduon was a magician who sought out the ultimate power at any cost. He ruled the land that would become Quickville with ruthless authority. Eventually, he planned to attain the ultimate power - to ascend to a higher plane of existence and become as a god. But he was too proud and reckless, and failed to carry out the spell properly - while he became incredibly powerful, he lost his physical form, and became trapped in his staff. Now he waits for the opportunity to rise again...

Slaweel - An embittered witch whose hard early life turned her against the world. She found Graduon's staff, and Graduon promised her great power in exchange for helping him. I envision her as a rather camp figure, not unlike Ursula from The Little Mermaid or Mother Gothel from Tangled, as a counterpoint to the evil of Graduon.

Darkbind and Zelina - Two heroes from Graduon's time who opposed him and almost defeated him.

Giovanni - I like the earlier idea of making him a crime lord. I'd have him coming from our world and winding up in Quickville by accident due to a magic spell. His aim is to take magic back to our world, so that he can rule.

Remember, the TRUE AND HONEST origin story to these guys is 'Suh-Sonic and Peeckachew, they... they collided and, uh, they fart a rainbow that spewses eggs all over time and space, so, so that none of them is too young to have a GIRLFRIEND, and Rosiechew, she's the first Rosiechew because she was discovred first, first than Lo-lolisa and, um, she's younger but she's the name-giver. Because she is pretty.' and that's just stupid.

From all the things we don't keep from Chris, THIS is what we keep? We should think of something better.
 
It's a good point about making the "bad" characters more evil - a lot of Sonichu fanfic has them as the heroes battling Mayor Chandler's reign of terror.

For MLW, you could play off those panels in Sonichu 6 where it implies she wants to eat Chris' "lonely heart and soul".

Maybe combine it with her later retcon as Slaweel the Witch: she feeds off the misery and pain of others. Chris' incompetent rule had made CWCville an incredibly depressing place to live. Slaweel was drawn to this abundant food source. Chris' unsuccessful love quest and general self-pity make him a particularly delicious potential meal, so Slaweel does everything she can to either make him more unhappy or catch and consume him.
 
Sonichu is really the foul progeny of the dark god Mewchu, who is worshiped by Angelica's little cult of nuns. He is destined to reap the souls of the human race when the stars are right, something he isn't happy about.

Chris is empowered by the souls of Cherokee entrapped inside a phylactery made by his ancestor, which give him the power to assume the form of a ancient spirit animal of the tribe.

Mary Lee Walsh is a alumni of the cult, having united with a old servant of Mewchu in order to gain powers. She is also involved with the infamous Manchester High Massacre, having collaborated with the perpetrator.

The "Chaos Rainbow" is a result of a crack in Mewchu's seal, resulting in new creatures made in his unholy image.

Full disclosure, I have actually been thinking about writing an improved Sonichu (at least, to the best of my abilities) for a while now. In order to minimise plagiarism from people with some legal nous, I came up with a new origin story. In my one, the Chus lived on the moon. Hundreds of years ago, when the moon grew cold, they used their magic abilities to create a rainbow that took them to Earth. I've ignored all the bollocks about hedgehogs and Pokeymans and in my version, they're just nonspecific furry bipeds who each have some special power.

CWC made it in high school. It's a papier mache representation of Sonic. He put a photo on his DVD as an example of his artistic talent.

I guess the fact that it transcends fail and reaches the plane of cosmic horror makes it popular on the forums.
 
How about the "cherokians" are really Shawnee. More specifically, they're undead followers of Tenskwatawa, and the whole "giving an autistic man child superpowers" anchunt prophesy is really a revenge plot against the American government for it's treatment of natives. Chris thinks they're Cherokee because he's Chris.
Of course, then you come dangerously close to the "evil savage injun" villain, so you'd have to be pretty skilled to make it not seem blatantly offensive.
 
Rosechu doesn't take on the stereo type of a 50s stay at home mom image and make her useful. I actually would have liked to see Rosechu doing more battling and action. Despite being a recolor, she could have been made slightly interesting if she did something other than taking nudes and suffocating someone with her vagina. Cause if I remember right that was really the only thing she did action/battle wise.

She pulled bananas out of her skirt and murdered some police officers before being kidnapped. Again.

It'd be interesting to play on Rosechu evolving from a more powerful Pokemon than Sonichu, but her new "evolved" form being weaker than the other electric hedgehogs. While Sonichu and the Chaotic Combo are exploring their new powers, Rosechu feels limited, maybe even disabled. Whereas she used to win battles using power alone, she now has to draw on her wits and experience, and she eventually becomes a more mature, well-rounded character because of it.
