I suddenly realize this actually needs to be explained. Its not about the physicality or the sex. Its about the emotion, the mental state, the conflict between the parties. More importantly, young adult Romance serves an important role in culture because it helps to explain to children all the complicated feelings and emotions they are starting to feel. Beyond even that though there is the more transcendent innocence of separating Love from Lust. Which up until 5 minutes ago, was a core component of western literature and art. Where the transcendent command of GOD that made Man and Woman companions to each other in the face of creation is not conflated with "I want to fap to this."
FFS. Show of hands. Who here has read "Bridge to Terabithia?" Probably one of the greatest works of romance written in the modern era. There is no sex. At all. Or even the implication of it. And the main protagonists are all pre-teens. But I challenge any grown man to get to the end of the book and not end up with tears in his eyes rather then a boner.
A lot of people think a date MUST end with backbreaking sex. It doesn't. You date to get to know someone. And if you are compatible, you get married. That is how its supposed to be. It's why marriage laws are so ancient, and why divorce is so high today. People didn't want to pu in the effort of self restraint and learning to love another person. They just wanted lust.
Malfoid has also spawned genderbent Ron as an insanely stacked, messy-haired “childhood friend” type character, which is what the art below is referring to, I believe.
The thread devolving into people posting malfoid school uniform porn of a character from a series famous for being about children proves my point. This whole trend is just a barely covert group goon session masked as romantic or platonic longing, not dissimilar to the greek towel boy gio scotti trend.
You know there’s people out there who have already rewritten some of the books to have Malfoid instead? Weaponized autism and tsundere girls really is one hell of a power.
There will be a Dracina/Harry fanfic turned novel turned movie in the next few years. The Alchemised book was a Draco/Hermione fanfic and I think it's also getting a movie soon.

Also Bluesky's still malding over how stupid it was of them to drive Yunayu away only for her to not only keep posting Malfoid art, but get more popular than before on Twitter (which they simultaneously think is le chuds 'exploiting' her and being less welcoming than they are simultaneously), and are also seething about the possibility that she'll become a full-time chud herself as if they live in her head rent-free the way she clearly does in theirs (all her art, including the Malfoid ones, is entirely apolitical).
