Malwarebytes' reason to block Kiwifarms

Last year Malwarebytes chose to block the IP 103.114.191.1 (again).

It happened during the Sneedchat hack in autumn. After Null fixed the vulnerability and the farms came back online, Malwarebytes kept the block. After contacting them to tell them about the false positive and asking to unblock the IP address, they replied with the following:

Explaining the situation to them and kindly asking for them to unblock the farms gets you this answer:

When sending them proof that the reports aren't trustworthy you get this answer

I decided to cancel my subscription and stopped recommending Malwarebytes to other people.

When looking at those reports of AbuseIPDB you see that the majority of the reports come from one person with a joke name: IP3ly - as in, I pee freely. And that person is from New Zealand as it seems. Kinda odd, isn't it.

Trannies are really trying everything to get the farms yeeted of the internet. For whatever reason Malwarebytes relies on AbuseIPDB and does not care about anything else. Maybe there are trannies working in the company? How long until others like Kaspersky, AVG, Avira, etc. block the farms too?

A little bit about AbuseIPDB:

The site is "a project managed by Marathon Studios Inc." And Marathon Studios is located in East Stroudsburg, PA. They seem to get complaints about loans and I'm too Yuropoorean to understand it (archive).

Malwarebytes locked away a whole bunch of free features behind a paywall with the release of Malwarebytes 4. I only have a pirated copy of the last version from the 3.x branch that I never really run.

The very fact they are so much of a kike company to charge you for shit that was free in an older version of their software should be enough of a sign to never financially support them.

The site isn't NZ. It's owned by Marathon Studios, Inc which is located in East Stroudsburg, PA.
Yep, from what I can see regarding IP flag rating sites they seem to be coming from accounts affiliated with NZ. Governments would have a direct communication line with companies and they would obliges considering they would want to continue operating in said place which leads me to believe this is the case.

That might explain why they bombard you with ads now.

I installed that shit on my dad's computer, but I haven't used Malwarebytes in fucking YEARS, so i was shocked that they were pulling the same shit that all the other sketchy virus softwares do.

Are you guys Boomers or something? Base Windows Defender plus a reliable adblocker will negate 99% of threats unless you're one of those guys who gets most of their shit from sketchy eastern European porn sites.

Commercial antivirus software is a relic of the past that's largely unneeded.

That's probably half the reason this phenomenon with these companies/entities exists.

If they were actual useful companies that appealed to a critical audience who demanded a functional, un-fucked-with product, then they wouldn't be pulling this kind of shit because business interests would supersede the personal retard opinions of a handful of self-righteous tech faggots.

On the other hand if they're delivering garbage to an audience of the ignorant or quiescent, then there isn't nearly as much of an impetus to keep your reddit-dwelling programmers on a tight leash. Even if your current consumer base notices, 99% of them won't do anything about it.

So glad my MWB subscription expired this week.

I only use it since I paid for a lifetime key a long time ago. Got tired of the kiwi block and just disabled the realtime web scanner, now it bugs me about that all the time.

Is there any antivirus that's not shit nowadays?
Yeah as mentioned by Sniperwoof it's Windows Defender. There isn't any reason to use anything else. The last time you needed to install a custom antivirus separately was back when Nero Burning ROM was a thing and you were burning mixes off Limewire.

Likely this will only impact people on corporate networks where they roll out Malwarebytes to every 2009 Dell in their fleet, and if you're reading kiwifarms on a corporate network you're retarded.

ESET. They even have a free online scanner / malware remover, making Malwarebytes Free moot.
I also sometimes use it in combination with AdwCleaner, yes it's by Malwarebytes but it used to be its own free program until it got bought. It's still mostly untainted from MB's nonsense and it has a pretty effective infection repair module, plus it's blazing fast.

I found WinDefender to be a resource hog and it will try to re-enable itself even if you go out of your way to disable it. It has a high rate of false positives, eg. Repacks, keygens patches tends to flag as trojans for no good reason.
They even had a serious CPU leak issue that took 5 years to be fixed.

But as far as free antivirus solutions go it's one of the best. I wouldn't touch Avast with a 10ft pole nowadays.

idk about corporate... the last few office jobs I've worked at all seem to love Trend Micro for whatever reason.
