Why do people love Palestine so much?
Brainwash one half of the political spectrum with colonizer rhetoric and then have a clear exception for a group of white-passing people governing poor brown people without being called out and the middling intellects among them will short-circuit over the hypocrisy.
So, I guess in short, they were inadvertently trained to do so.

Reactions: indomitable snowman
Having read his manifesto posted here, I feel sad for him. And for all of us. This guy spent years specializing into a profession that is no longer what it used to be decades ago. He woke up and realized he is one of the baddies, and it broke him. Nothing he wrote about seems off to me. It's all true and that's what makes it sad. He should have done literally anything else to fix any of the issues he outlined in his manifesto. Setting his hands on fire will accomplish nothing at all. He would have had a bigger impact if he volunteered to drive people to the polls, worked for an organization trying to revert global warming, or wrote columns about the issues he cares about. I guess he hoped this action will bring attention to his writing, but I don't think it will. The world is too cynical and people would rather laugh at him. He asks the reader what he will do, and I think the answer is, sadly, nothing.

My take was that crying about the sorry state of journalism might have some merit if he didn't blame Donald Trump for it and not realize the bullshit that has gone on since at least the days of GWB.

Other than that it's a combination of "Our Democracy" bullshit and a lack of self-awareness.

- Blames the filibuster rule for fucking over legislation, forgetting that it was the Democrats that introduced it to hurt Republicans and is basically big mad that the Republicans have used it in kind
- Cries about how Democrats change their narrative to what's politically convenient, culminating in muh Palestine.
- Cries about how American journalists are "forced" to call it a war against Hamas.
- Unhappy with both Trump for being Trump and Harris for being a liar

He's seems to be dimly aware that journalists are partisan hacks who take marching orders but can't understand that it only extends to Democrats, much less grasping the bigger picture.

I personally wouldn't eat vegetables grown on mulched evil.
Yeah exactly. I mean how do people think keen dreams happened. The last thing the world needs is some evil muslim potato king trying to conquer the world with a jihadi vegetable army. Especially considering the center of the potato kings empire would probably be the potato caliphate of ireland. Who wants to be ruled by islamic irish potatoes?

Some of the deepest questions that are studied as part of the human condition, concepts like Objectivity, the pursuit of knowledge and truth, the origins of Ethics and Morality and fairness, all are scrutinized, evaluated, and applied on a daily basis in the Journalism industry.

Of all of the schools of philosophy that are foundational to journalism however, none is as important as Objectivity. Objectivity is defined as: anything that exists as it is independent of any conscious awareness of it.

I'm here today however to tell you that Objectivity as it relates to Journalism is a shell of what it once was.

It's as if because the Journalists of yesteryear held Objectivity at such high value, they forgot why society even needed Journalists in the first place.
Right right, that's great and all mr. journalist but could you tell me what a woman is and if they have a penis?

It's perfectly possible to hate Israel without loving Palestine, and at the moment they're giving the rest of the world plenty of reason to do so.
Except these people are not just simply hating or rooting against Israel, they are literally risking death in order to vocally "support" the main opposition to Israel.
