I noticed there is not a thread for MandaloreGaming yet so I'll create a thread here. Mandalore is a game reviewer on YouTube who presents in a more informative tone than his alter-ego, though there are some comedic breakouts that he has to suppress with his medication.

Mandalore's reviews are very organized, explaining the premise, visuals, gameplay, story, each in a couple of minutes, and giving a final conclusion to assist the viewer whether to buy a video game or not. Mandalore is very straightforward in his language and his comparisons are humorous yet make sense at the same time. Most of the games that he reviews are mainly indie games, Eastern European games, games from an old/nostalgic-era, or games in very niche genres compared to the mainstream games that we hear, see, and play everyday. In addition, he convinced GOG to make offers for some of the games that he review at 95% off for several weeks (like Homeworld: Remastered). His reviews also include ways to download a game to make it run the best performance such as the use of an installer.

If you're not interested in buying the games that Mandalore reviews, it's fine. The reviews still itself stand on their own enough to be entertaining.

Reviews

Warhammer 40K Mechanicus

Arcanum: Of Steamworks and Magick Obscura

F.E.A.R.

Some of his game reviews has also helped a game get the popularity it deserves when "gaming journalists" has given them bad reviews or due to bad marketing.

Brigador

The game failed to launch and resulted in the studio restarting itself. Despite the extreme loss, the game has been getting a lot of free updates from the devs. At the time of review, the game has 218 reviews on Steam. As of 28 February 2023, Brigador now has 3,669 reviews and it's probably thanks to Mandalore.

Pathologic 2

"Gaming journalists" have trashed the game for being too difficult and compared it to Dark Souls. Mandalore put out a review to help bolster the game's popularity amongst his audience.

Halloween Walkthroughs

In Halloween, Mandalore will release a video of a summary of his gameplay walkthrough of a very niche adventure game that he recorded on Twitch and explain the outlandish stories to the viewer as the gameplay goes on until the end.

The Mystery of the Druids: A Bizarre Adventure Game

Anonymous Agony: An Extra Edgy Adventure Game

Drama

Despite being affiliated with a right-wing bias when he is off his meds, Mandalore does associate with Breadtubers like hbomberguy (who voiced the High Elves in his Warhammer 2 review, which is fitting since they're both arrogant, before being taken over by alter-ego voicing the Dark Elves). On 2 April 2021, Mandalore retweeted a post that accuses Vinny of Vinesauce of being a sexual predator with his audience on very shaky evidence, implying that he agrees with this notion.

Mandalore then retracted the retweet and made an apology, stating that he was asked to spread awareness (probably from the breadtubers) of the incident and that after making the retweet, he looked at the evidence and saw he was wrong and was sorry.

Despite this, people who enjoy Mandalore who also enjoy Vinesauce were turned off by the retweet and withdrew their support of Mandalore and criticized him. Whether you want to believe Mandalore's apology or not, that's up to you.

Podcast

Mandalore is also a member of the Please Stop Talking podcast, which has its own thread in the Kiwi Farms. The podcast is created by a furry named Sir Meow, or David. One of the most notable events of why the thread existed is when David kicked out Shammy/Avery due to mental instability or alcoholism and has a meltdown over it. The guy who draws their avatars (and porn of them) also did a fan-art in Mandalore's Mystery of the Druids video. Hopefully, the drama does not infect Mandalore.

Whats the point of this thread? Gay drama from a year ago doesnt really seem like it warrants a thread.
We've got threads on other youtubers that aren't necessarily lolcows. This is a thread in the games forum.

i was disappointed he didn't really call out the globohomo shit that was happening in the dead space remake. i dont think he's thread worthy to be honest. he stays out of trouble for the most part.

All this thread does is mention the drama, I don't see where op says it is about the drama.

Again, threads like this on the games forum aren't made to be lolcow threads.

I think the sseth thread was sufficent. No need to create threads for his both personas.

I had this idea that Mandalore was only reviewing boring old obscure games but looking at his video list now, his picks are actually fairly balanced.

Mandalore is currently my go-to game reviewer since SuperBunnyhop has pretty much stopped uploading videos.
I discovered so many games thanks to Mandalore. My first exposure to Factorio was through him. Thanks to him getting the price of Homeworld: Remastered down 95% on GOG, I bought that game immediately and enjoyed it a lot. Rip Kharak.

He also reviewed tons of video games that were popular back then such as System Shock, Dead Space (all of the entries in the series), Marathon (the forerunner of Halo, also by Bungie) and Stronghold.

Stronghold

Mandalore's audience is very centrist/normie-centered so it's best for him to just put out the most relevant parts of the Dead Space remake that normies are most interested in that will help them decide to buy the game or not. Besides, no normie would notice the woke stuff in the game so you might as well not mention it.

I like mandalore and his content, videos are fun to watch and i find him a very likable personality.
Giving him the benefit of the doubt on the whole vinny thing, that shit happened a while ago though so nobody really cares anymore.
Mandy's also got some fun stories to tell on the please stop talking podcast, very interesting person indeed.
Also he wears a full set of platemail armor at all times.

It's pretty clear that he's too milquetoast to generate worthwhile discussion on his own and is just "reviewing" games for money. His critiques took a noticeable nosedive the moment that he started a Patreon/he started making more deals with publishers of the games he talked about, and he himself isn't funny enough to pass the videos off as comedy. He will always exists under Sseth's shadow.

I like his videos. He was the one who got me invested in system shock.

He makes good ambient noise. Watched his mystery of the druids review like ten times, that game is a trip.
An adventure game review I couldn't finish watching was Ring, in which the game is more bad than surreal that I got disinterested, in comparison to Mystery of the Druids which is very surreal and interesting as the game goes on.

The early part with the dwarf king is cool, but it just becomes nonsense unless you played any of the other "adaptions" of the story like Odin Sphere. But MotD best thing is having one of the most sociopathic normal protagonist in gaming.

Btw, pronouncing pizza as Pitzah is common at least in Israel, wonder if the actor picked it up there.
