What is "Manifest Destiny"? Well, if you google search it for books, or try and do a search on youtube, you will be inundated by an endless tidle wave of think pieces about how "Manifest Destiny" was the totally made up, fake, and bullshit excuse the American colonists used to justify a Genocide of the native Americans and the buffalo. Was there ever a spiritual or righteous component to it? No. It was all about killing brown people and animals. End of story.

But this is not true. The Manifest Destiny was perhaps the most powerful clarion call of the 19th century. Lots of European countries tried to justify their empire building around God and Country, but for the USA, the Manifest Destiny was a sacred mission that transcended time and space. We would carry the revolution against the Old World from the Atlantic to the Pacific and from the ashes of the Old World we would build a New World. It was a clarion call for the men of the West to aspire to greatness. To grasp the wilderness of North America and with their own hands to tame it. And to its cause came every nation of Europe from Sicilians to Swedes. To build a New Empire, from the ashes of the Old World in the soil of the New.

And so built a continent spanning Empire.

Manifest Destiny is now in the air again. Canada is failing under the rulership of the minions of Davos, Mexico is a failing state that has surrendered its military authority to drug cartels. Europe is beset on all sides by African and Asian enemies within and without, and their national governments collapsing as the remaining native voters reject them. Revolution is in in the air, and Trump ascends to the throne of the United States.

Manifest Destiny. The destiny of America. Not the "United States". "America". The Country called "America". The American Destiny to unite North America under its banner and with the power of an entire continent bring to the world a new birth of freedom. The New World is rising to oppose the tyranny of the Old. North America is awake.

I always thought that it was the federal government saying “here ya go new American citizen from Europe! Take this 300+ acres of land for free but on the condition that you make it agriculturally productive.”

From there, the land just got passed down through the generations and is how you have families that own huge swaths of land in the Midwest, all the while you pay $1200/mo for your shithole apartment crammed like sardines in the inner city.
 
the Ultimate fate of the United States is its own destruction, you have to ultimately look at the history even before the countries founding, even to the English Civil War where the Parliamentarians overthrew and killed Charles I, it basically created a class of Rich Peasants who could tell the Poor Peasants what to do, even after the Restoration of the Monarchy it was on a limited power baseless and by the time of George III, Britain was basically run by Parliament and a Monarch telling the Rich Peasants No could easily cause an uprising and the death of that Monarch, we even start to see this in the rest of Europe in the French Revolution later on, back to the American Revolution it was moreso a rebellion against the Parliament of Great Britain rather than the King who while having some level of sympathy with the colonists at least early on basically had to let Parliament make these laws taxing the colonies and restricting the sale of firearms, amongst other things that pissed them off, resulting in Britain prosecuting a war against the colonies they would be unable to win given the sheer amount of Patriots in comparison to Loyalists who were 20% of the population at best with the vast majority of them being in the Southern Colonies (hence why the British armys last efforts in the war were concentrated in the South), fast foward to present day and this Rich Peasant class has manifested itself in the Government of the United States, with all of the Democrats,and most of the Republican Party desiring an Authoritarian State, but the thing is eventually they go too far and they are unable to control the Poor Peasants, hence leading to the cycle resetting and the Balkanization of the United States

I think even in some hypothetical future where America balkanizes, manifest destiny would not die. All the successor states would immediately claim to be the "real" America, and from there would come the struggle to reunite the Empire under their banner. Much like China's various civil wars and warring states eras. Manifest Destiny is fundamentally too powerful an idea.
