I think @Nigel of Ukip does make some very valid points, as I’ve also tried to ask (and was ignored) why Mouse continued to mod for those years despite his poor treatment. I do find that suspect. I also, however, appreciate that Mouse dropping these leaks has definitely provided fresh content and drama. And regardless of the fact that there is no “smoking gun”, that also isn’t really what this should be all about.

I think people may be losing the forrest for the trees. While it could certainly be argued that this is all one big gay op, that still kinda misses the point imo. There’s a motto in sports called “pounding the rock”, which is to say that even a seemingly impenetrable object will eventually crack if the team just continues to pound away at it. While it may be a bad precedent to set to encourage people to pull similar gay ops, I think it’s fair to say that this had a measurable effect on DSP, no matter how “small” relatively speaking.

DSP may be the Granite Pigroach, but the cracks have been deepening for quite some time now. As everyone has already pointed out, DSP has gone from an influential youtube let’s-player to one of the most recognizable lolcows on the internet and a complete social recluse. And at this point I highly doubt that there is potential for upward mobility in DSP’s life.

I myself may have gotten lost in the hype for these leaks and given Mouse more “credit” or “respect” than he may “deserve”, but then again, it’s moments like these that pound that rock the hardest. Gay ops or not, it’s difficult for me to say that it was a bad thing that Mouse leaked this stuff overall, regardless of Mouse’s intentions or the effect it’s had on his public standing.
