You use "liberalism" for any development you don't like within a society and therefore use the term well beyond its actual meaning. If it is a synonym for "decadence" or "downfall", why not use them instead, but you keep implying that there is some kind of red thread going through all instances of societal downfall throughout history and you don't name what it is. Instead of that you use liberalism, a political concept which puts much emphasis on individuality, as a term to describe situations in which individuality as we know it simply wasn't existent as a concept.
