Marijuana decriminalization.

Not to power-level but I have some health problems and a pretty bad back, neck, hip, and knee injury. CBD heavy strains or CBD pills have the only thing to help with the pain. Other things just make you (hopefully) too high to care about being in pain, but CBD actually makes me not sore.
I'm not sure how I feel about recreational use, but I will say it's probably less harmful than alcohol, but depending on how you're getting it into you it can be harder on your lungs than whiskey is on your liver with tar. Sure, it makes people chill and mellow, but I've seen first hand people turn into almost junkies for weed; like choosing to buy weed over groceries or pay rent, steal to buy weed and all the stuff you'd expect to see from heroin junkies, but anything that makes you feel good can be addictive, how many babies have been killed via neglect because of WoW? More than a couple if I remember.
It can be a tax boon if there are dispensaries, weed cafes and the like popping up, but speaking from first hand experience, the government ran dispensaries are overpriced, over packaged and inferior to stuff I could get from a "guy".

I've only indulged a handful of times in my life, so I can't claim to be an experienced user. What I do know is, inviting a girl over, baking a few grams into some cookies, brownies or whatever, is one of the best ways to spend the evening. Personally not a fan of smoking the stuff, but to each their own.

I'm not opposed to legalisation, though it would undoubtedly piss me off having to see the massive public nuisance that would be stoners and weed worshippers all over the place. Those guys are cancer.

For very occasional, private use in one's domicile? Nothing wrong with that at all.

The only people benefitting from the continued prohibition on marijuana is the prison-industrial complex. Drugs won the War on Drugs and I'd rather a stoner's purchasing power go to independent American pot farmers rather than a Colombian narco-baron who sprays his weed fields with dangerous pesticides.

I am of two minds on it, I think that not all marijuanas are created equal. Some strains of it are, I think a lot safer for the public than are other ones that have been GMO'd to be too potent. What was smoked by everyone from the ancients to the original hippies is no longer like some of the types of it out there today. There are some of them that I feel could be permitted and others that I think ought to stay prohibited and for good reason.

You shouldn't be jailed for doing any drug in your own home, assuming you don't bother anyone else with your use. Period.

If you care what someone does in the privacy of their own homes when it doesn't affect you at all, then please do get a fucking life.

I used to be full LEGALIZE IT! But seeing as how it attracts hippie culture and a lot of dubious JRE ramblings about how it expands the mind, the less convinced I become of people's ability to moderate their usage. It just looks like Left-wing Soma to me. BTW, I don't like alcohol either for the same reasons.

You can shoot up in the privacy of your own home as long as the state gets the kids. Give and take.

People privately and responsibly possessing or using something should not be treated the same as dangerous criminals. Drug charges can be as severe as rape lmao...

A middle ground like the UK has for steroids would be best IMO. Legal possession for personal use. Illegal to provide to others or import from abroad. It punishes the gangs profiting but not the end users, who are generally with most substances are not gonna be dangerous or bad people.

Fines might be alright too.

Just legalize and tax it. I don't see the big deal with it and shit like tobacco and alcohol being legal. I mostly want it legal for medicinal reasons, as the oil in it can help with seizures, and it can help cancer patients have an appetite. Oh, and with how people lace the shit, I'd rather it be sold by approved dealers than random drug dealers.

Me personally? I've hit the bowl a few times, but it doesn't do shit for me most of the time. I'd rather just smoke a cigarette or drink.

Legal weed has to be heavily regulated as it is a food and/or drug. So much so that there isn't even a correlation between crime reduction and legalization. Why? Because of the "tax it" clause of legalization. Of course the government wants a cut, you're the one who demanded it. In fact, drug cartels now can grow product here instead of importing it. All legalizing has done is benefit the black market. It's time to admit that LEGALIZE IT! didn't work. The legitimate marketplace didn't benefit, the Laffer Curve slapped down any dream of generating tax revenue of it, and cartels are more powerful than ever.

I'm from the glorious Netherlands and I can confirm weed does not make you retarded.

hard disagree, weed absolutely does make people retarded. both in the acute sense (after smoking you suffer from brain fog, weird and distorted thought patterns, and general slowness for the rest of the day) and in the chronic sense (smoke a lot for a long time and you end up with severely diminished cognitive ability)

people say "at least its not as bad as alcohol" which in some sense is true - weed doesn't ruin your liver and kidneys like alcohol does, a weed overdose can't really kill you like alcohol can, and unlike weed alcohol can make some people really aggressive and violent. but i think weed is severely underestimated. yes an overdose won't kill you, but it will still send you on a real nasty psychotic trip which can mess your mind up for life. it also has a tendency to make people unproductive, lazy, tired, and not give a fuck about anything, which is very undesirable and will severely fuck up your life in the long term.
