He really needs to get Anthony Hopkins to play The King.I dunno, don't care at this point. I have a feeling Miyamoto will hand-pick voice-actors for it, too.

Now if only we've gotten Christian Bale or Edward Nortan as GanonView attachment 4696564
'I wonder what's for dinner?'
I just hope Marc Graue (the guy who played Mario and Luigi in Hotel Mario) makes a surprise cameo appearance.
There's been more time of Mario and DK together than Mario and Luigi. I really wish they went the Super Show route and had the main four go and stop Bowser.
Fuck it I'm sold, this film looks amazing, the animation is appropriately colourful and beautiful and lacks the cheapness of so many other illumination films. The voices are pretty good and they are really paying tribute to so many Mario IP's including Galaxy and of course its kart games and possibly many others. The plot is fairly simple I imagine but I don't think it needs to be complex considering its main demographic is children and not Moviebob tier manchildren and redditors. Although a lot of the audience will no doubt be that. Either way I'm glad Illumination actually gave a fuck about making a decent product and I hope it turns out great.
It's most likely because Nintendo is calling all the shots.Either way I'm glad Illumination actually gave a fuck about making a decent product
Perhaps, Illumination have always been a studio that prioritise profit in making films cheaply and efficiently as possible and this time because Nintendo have been working so close to make sure their precious IP isn't bastardised by Illumination they'd obviously go the extra mile to make this as good as possible. Honestly it looks like a fun film for kids and older fans and ill genuinely go and see it when it comes out. It's most likely because Nintendo is calling all the shots.
That's a thing...?I'm going to make what's probably going to be a pretty obvious call here and say that the Rainbow Road part is going to be the look down at your phone and catch up on your notifications part of the movie.
I have to say.....the "cute thing says something that contrasts with its appearance" joke is getting a bit old.
Rainbow Road is making me fantasize about what a Mario Kart movie would look like in the near future.
I like how at the 44 second mark there's a brief glimpse of the Sand Kingdom from Odyssey.
The crew went all in with the Mario references here. I'm hoping to see it in theatres, just probably a week after when the crowd cools down.
...literally like this? Because it's already a Mario Kart segment? What would the point be (besides money) in making a Mario Kart movie when it's just going to be this scene stretched out to an entire movie?Rainbow Road is making me fantasize about what a Mario Kart movie would look like in the near future
Yeah, I keep waffling back and forth between "wow I'm excited" and "I'll watch it when I watch it" but I think I'm finally settling on the latter. Not to mention it's not like I'm about to haul my old ass to a movie theater alone to watch a children's film alone. That seems more like a Sonic movie's territory. The movie looks pretty decent, but I'm somehow not all that excited about it. I'll probably wait until VOD.
I think I'm too old and too cynical.
