Marvel Cinematic Universe

Another (half-jokingly) point I'd like to make: I doubt Magneto, looking like Ian McKellen, fathered Polaris, but he was somewhere in his 60s at the time.
Jesus Christ, I'm about to geek... Polaris was around 20 in 1968. Magneto was in his earliest 50s perhaps, so he conceived her when he was around 30.

but you cant, the punisher exists in the marvel universe, he teams up with daredevil, spiderman deadpool and moon knight

how can you square the circle that frank served in vietnam but also is going after the king pin with daredevil and spiderman without resorting to magic or just making him 70.

besides of course just inventing a conflict that is in all cases just the vietnam war again but happened about 10 years ago.
Times runs slower in the marvel timeline. Read above. Polaris was born around 1948 or 1950, yet, she's around 30 in comics. Auschwitz existed 80 years ago, but Magneto is yet not even 70.

Yeah, but it's different in the movies, to the point where, in Logan, they make a point of the comics being based off the superheroes and supervillains among us. According to The Gifted's Wiki page, Polaris was born in 1988, making Magneto around 58 when she was born. Yeah, I know Wiki pages aren't reputed for being 100% accurate.

Plus, the series is supposed to be sometime after Days of Future Past, and the timeline got jumbled (I know there's probably multiple, if it works that way in the X-Men films), especially in regards to when people were born. Example:

Angel. If the continuity went all the way from Apocalypse to The Last Stand, Ben Hardy Warren Worthington III would be older than Ben Foster Warren Worthington III. Polaris also has a brief image cameo in TLS, the same one Foster is in, but she's different, but she's probably still Lorna-Dane-Polaris-Bastard-Daughter-of-Magneto.

Yeah, Marvel's terrible at capitalizing on surges of popularity like this. Instead of putting out quality comics on classic characters that people want, they'll just push Gay Nigger Man and Angry Lesbian Woman even harder.

They should just lean into it and have a young Magneto who survived the Trump death camps of 2016.

I remember years ago someone tried to make Magneto black and said he was a victim of Apartheid.
There is no way they're ever gonna get rid of his Jewish identity. There are other Jewish characters, but they're all too young or American.
Unfortunately, I've seen push to make Rogue and Gambit black (either or both) despite both of their southern origin. Here, it really doesn't matter, does it?

I can't wait to see how delicately they'd handle that

Considering the hood asgard they made in the what if miles was thor comic

yes but the issue becomes how do you have the punisher who was a special forces dude in vietnam also still be killing drug dealers in current day new york city and interacting with the other street level super heroes marvel has since that would make him what 70? so youd constantly have to come up with new excuses why he still looks like hes 30-40, which is an issue that they have with magneto, but magneto interacts with reality shapers all the time (hell his own daughter is one) and he once was de aged to a baby and then reaged back up to be younger.

are we going to have to have baby frank?

so instead you simply make up a fake conflict that is vietnam in everything but name and that happened a decade ago.

you get all the grounding without having to also come up with non grounded reasons why a guy who just murders child molesters and gang members is also hanging out with a wizard whos making him younger or whatever hack reason they come up with
They can just make Frank Castle into an Afghanistan veteran just like the Netflix show. I mean that boondoggle of a conflict ended up badly for America as much as Vietnam did and it only technically ended since 2021. It just wasn't represented well in the Netflix show because that was before the war ended.

Right. Magneto is a terrorist, but he's educated and well spoken. When he's been redeemed, he's been a good leader. I mean, not a fan, but at least he can be diplomatic and understands some politics.

Now, imagine some nigga Magneto yelling in ebonics and using his powers to steal bikes. Nigganeto.

Eta, no wait...

Muhg-nigga...

Your just ending up kicking thr can down the road though

Because in 50 years your going to run into the same issue. Instead you just make up a fake war. Have all the stuff that turned him into the merciless murder machine that he is still happen and its just an analogy for the plight of veterans of the post ww2 wars and Say it happened 15 years ago.

You know, well, I don't know if you know, but Spidey Noir's Doctor Octopus is a crippled mad scientist from South Africa, and he ends up being more diabolical than modern day Octavius. He despises Black people because, when he was growing up on his family's farm, or estate, I suppose it could have been both, he saw the labourers and farmhands, who were, of course, Black, being strong and healthy. He even tried to join the Nazis, but they rejected him, because of his condition.

The most fucked up thing he does? Give Robbie a lobotomy.

i personally was for the idea of making Magneto a Rawanda genocide victim, plus having Xavier both be africans and combining that with the Wakanda backstory of not lifting a finger to help others would have been really interesting. Plus the original story about Magneto being a survivor came out about 30-40 years after the end of the conflict so it does match up with the african genocide too and unlike the holohoax, society literally sitting on their hands and letting it happen would motivate someone like Magneto more.

its clear the intentions was for Black Panther and Wakanda to be a major centerpiece of the MCU and that had to be abandoned.

but all that discussion was a decade ago when they announced that disney was buying the xmen. Now everyone knows the ZOG will be in power for at least the next 20 years and its all moot at this point.

Looks great honestly and it's good to see the original casts are back together again. I don't see it in the trailer but I hope they don't sneak in the other MCU bullshit into this show. I want Daredevil, Punisher, and the rest of those TV shows from Netflix to be as detached as possible from the rest of the MCU.
It'll be a miracle if we can get fight scenes that don't suck shit let alone good writing.
