Marvel Cinematic Universe

I honestly think that Hollywood has an aging problem these days.
Most big stars are in their 50's and 60's.
You look, for example, at all the new male actors under 30 and they're all feminine twigs or other weird looking dudes.
The only people who look like they could lead a movie, and this woman does look good, are old, it seems.
I will bet that in a decade or so we'll have films with voice and looks of old actors plastered over stunt doubles. No one gives a shit over the new talent while people will still watch Arnie if he stars in something.

Regarding Iron Man 3, I 100% agree with the other points bought up (it's fun, good writing and humor, completes Tony's personal arc, etc.) but one thing about it I enjoy versus later MCU films was.... it was a trilogy that still focused on Iron Man himself and his world and almost nothing else butting in. Pretty much everyone in the films were just Iron Man supporting characters or villains, no matter how remolded they were for the films, and having just a singular hero meant the stakes kept lower by default.

Civil War was a very fun movie IMO, but I do wish it was primarily just a Cap-centric film. Much in the same vein I wish we got a couple extra Hulk solo films during Phases 1 and 2 - I like to imagine 2 would be him wandering around the boonies like in his TV show, dealing with the Leader or something and perhaps an eye kept on him by Fury, while 3 would be a heavily modified Planet Hulk leading into his gladiator status in Thor 3 - and of course I always dreamed of Sony dealing with the solo side of MCU Spidey while Marvel Studios focused on him in team settings. You'd still have the Avengers and Guardian films for the team-up aspect and saving that for them - instead of shoving (X) major hero into a supporting role in another's and diluting the gravitas of both - would only hype them up even more.

I know and you know Marvel always mixes and matches its heroes and villains since the beginning, but I always took Iron Man having a genuine trilogy to himself as really helping his popularity.

Early box office opening predictions are coming out for Captain African-American: Staunning and brave, rumored in the $95mil range. More interesting to me is the blatantly bullshit rumors that it didn't cost as much as previously reported, and that it actually came in cheaper than other recent Marvel entries. They're currently claiming, despite months of extensive re-shoots, that it actually only cost $180mil, which is half the previously rumored amount and significantly less than basically every other recent MCU film.

They act like this is new when Peter acts like the Tom Holland Spider-man and that other recent Spider-Man cartoon where he was palling around with other superheroes, which has been like the past few shows where Spidey was in animation.

The animation looks atrocious, feels like it is direct to dvd, and would've been better off drawing in 2D.

After what Disney did to buoy Captain Marvel during their acquisition of Fox, I expect only shenanigans to surround their tentpoles.

Lads, I know I'm six years late, but I just recently watch Infinity War and Endgame (I was in the mood for slop, what can I say?) and I have to say:
Please, someone put Mark Ruffalo out of his misery. How is it possible to be the absolute worst actor in a franchise of mostly mid-tier actors?
His performance is one of the most wooden I've seen in a long time, it's like this is his first gig and he's never been in any movie before. They put him in scenes with RDJ and it's like the unmoveable object meets the incredible retard.
Nevermind his and the others simping for Kamala not too long ago, which was just as embarassing.

Other than that, I guess they last movie is fine...doesn't need to be three hours long, but I've seen worse, especially when it comes to marvel movies.

That shit will never make its money back. Nobody asked for his, nobody really gives a shit. People might have been more excited if Bucky were to be the new cap, but he's not black enough for the role.

What did they do, render this whole show on an overheating, failing computer from 2012? It's almost astounding how many entries in big franchises these days end up looking terrible, this looks like the cutscenes from an indie walking simulator game that was released on Steam with little to no fanfare or interest.
I imagine its supposed to look like those awful Spider-Verse movies, but without the budget, talent or understanding why that particular design decision was made.

I still say there's some budget shit where they only have to pay for rendering half the crap or whatever

Huh, I guess I spend no time thinking about Mark Ruffalo to notice his bad acting, but you're right. His performance has been terrible the entire time and understudies generally aren't that bad or mumbly. I guess I tend to notice the bad writing around Hulk and how he no longer channels the nerd rage character.
