I'm skeptical that Disney will have the clout to pull off the last one. I suppose it will hinge on how many more bombs they can manage to release between now and then.

Disney has ties to the government and are a monopoly now from owing Fox, Star Wars and Marvel. They could declare war on another nation or demand all children own Mickey paraphenelia and it would be “legal.”

That's a great point. If Disney is smart enough to swallow its pride and make the X-Men the focal point of the advertising over their stronk women, the scent of the bait might overpower the trough of sewage or conspicuous absence of Kang after years of buildup.

It's been kinda implied that the next phase will be the mutant saga. The current mutant casting calls aren't for this phase, but the next one.

Feige is testing the waters with the Fox x-men. He knows this is the last chance he has to actually make the MCU a thing as it was during the Endgame era (the F4 are just four people). That's why he finally brought popular x-men that are likely gonna fight other heroes for Secret Wars. He said he wasn't really sure how to integrate Tatum, for example, but he did it at the end because he realised how popular he was due to D&W. Same for Cyclops and people asking to give Marsden a new chance to do the character justice. And also why Jackman ain't in this movie, he's saving him for the next one.

Once the interest for the mutants is high, he can introduce his new MCU x-men without worrying much.

(Except, if the rumor is true, that the first x-movie is about Scott, Jean, and Chuck... which would prove he hasn't learned one thing)

Feige greenlit, approved of or completely handwaved all the horrible choices the current MCU and old MCU was stuck with. Everyone knows Bucky should be the new Cap and his arc could have been about overcoming personal trauma and proving to the world he isnt some attack dog for HYDRA. But they had him cured offscreen by the Technonigger Empire who have nanotech and can cure cancer but never invented the wheel and still use spears.

So now were stuck with a “Captain America” who has no serum, uses Vibrainium wings and nanotech that absorbs kinetic energy. Now were stuck with Shuri, Mexican Mermaid Man who flooded Wakanda, Shang Chi. Hey you remember Shang Chi right he was from…THAT movie. You remember, please remember…

I dont trust the man at all with anything. On one hand letting directors do their thing is fine, on the other hand sometimes they need to be reigned in or shut down and sometimes he forces them to adhere to choices to chase trends and audiences that dont even exist. Nobody is a fucking fan of Riri Williams in the comics why would you make an entire series for her for example? Why did Feige personally fuck over Sam Raimis horror multiverse movie to include Wandavision shit? Im personally hoping Doomsday is what really makes people realize this superhero thing needs a break. Give it a try 30 to 50 years later but right now it just needs to be put to pasture. Or the people in charge need to leave for good.

I'm just mentioning that I think it's his plan and, as I said, if they rumors of the first x-men movie is based on Scott, Jean, and Charles, then we know he hasn't learned one single thing of all the previous failures.

We do know nevertheless that he wants the x-men to be upfront upcoming phases, which it's a move I 100% support, but he still ain't letting behind bad decisions, like (according to some commentary) feature more the x-ladies.

For those who aren't familiar with the x-men comics, the original group was Cyclops, Iceman, Beast, Angel, and Jean. They joined in that order. If they want the origin of the group, then focus on how they all joined, not just Jean. On top of it, they said Kitty and Gambit were definitely be in the movie (a new Gambit, not Tatum), so this is a post 80 era of the x-men, where they had a big team. The comic ain't just about Scott and Jean and they aren't the only couple either.

Ever read about the original plans for Epcot? Walt Disney himself wanted to create his own city state with himself as mayor for life. Even back then, Disney had delusions of grandeur.

From what I'm reading, in the aftermath of Thunderbolts' box office performance, Disney is in a complete panic.

Disney's shifted the release dates for the next two Avengers movies from May to December 2026 and 2027, with the reason cited as dissatisfaction with story. This means after the FF film bombs later this year, there will be about a year and a half with no new MCU content at all before Avengers: Doomsday bombs, with its sequel Avengers: Secret Wars bombing a year later. Presumably this means the next Spider-Man movie will also be moved, and will bomb sometime in summer 2027, as it was always planned to bomb between the two Avengers movies and probably ties into their plots.

Iger has claimed that Marvel is refocusing and is blaming all the Disney+ content and too many movies for ruining the Marvel brand. No one actually believes this, and it was Iger himself who greenlit the avalanche of terrible content on Disney+, pretty much all of which burned money and turned off a lot of the fans who bothered to watch. Disney/Marvel is reduced to attempts at imitating it's past successes, badly, in hopes that that works again, mostly because the people in charge of creative are genuinely mystified why what they're doing isn't working.

It's very satisfying to watch Marvel's crap kingdom start to collapse after years of their foisting all sorts of nonsense on the public. Every day seems to bring more news of panic and disarray as yet another movie or series bombs and the morons in charge flail about and blame audiences, and anyone or anything else but themselves. It’s been said a hundred times, but it’s hilarious to watch Disney just keep repeating this pattern, of building up a bunch of capital and then blowing all on big, pointless mistakes, with one franchise after another.

Holy shit I've never wanted a movie to bomb as bad as I want F4 to bomb.

Is that sandwiched Spoderman movie Tom Holland? Cause that might not actually bond, since Sony is more tightfisted with production budgets and people actually like him. I mean I hope it flops like a cerval, but that really seems like the only one that may succeed (of course Disney only makes a small portion off of that, like with Avatard).

Then again, they're going to break the glass on all the OG X-men and probably Thor and actual Cap, so who knows.

Edit - They are grtting the Shang-Chi director for Spiderman and are shoe-horning in some old ugly Mexi-nigger from The Bear. Also the red headed girl from Stranger Things, presumably to show Spiderman how shit he is and that girls get it done.

Thing is, despite the box office, people seem to have enjoyed Thunderbolts. They don't trust their own product and they have no patience. A movie like that it's never gonna make the big numbers as Avengers, Spiderman, or even X-Men. They need to get more realistic expectations.

And, FYI, F4 is also having reshoots.

This is the same thing with comics, they can't just stick to their own plan and that's much worse than having just an unpopular storyline because the changes feel rushed and out of place.

At this rate, just destroy the whole thing and start all over.
