The chat restrictions in this game are hilarious. It feels like every time I try to say something my message gets blocked. Fucking chinks.
It's so ridiculously overbearing I'm amazed stuff like "gg ez" doesn't get caught in it.

My couple of matches in Plat definitely felt quite different. More, but not necessarily better communication. People being pretty good.

Had a nice moment of instant karma. Got matched if some cunt who before the match began was like: "if you play bad, I am going to switch". I reacted to that, and he was like:" keep talking". We lost pretty hard. I put him on block and avoid as teammate. The very next match, what do I see. It's the same asshole on the other team. His team got destroyed. He switched characters mid-match. Afterward, even this team called him out in chat for being the worst, which he easily was, at least judging by the statistics. I didn't write anything in chat to him, don't know if he even recognized me. But I had a big smile on my face.

Road to Plat 2 was quite arduous since most matches are close calls. Still the occasional bitching and moaning, unfortunately. I also almost wish I would have a team with voice chat.
 
Made it to Plat 1 and went immediately on a losing streak just to end up in Plat 2 again. Barely avoided getting deranked to Plat 3. Didn't play the best myself today, but my teammates today were probably one of the worst assortment of mouth breathers I have ever seen in the game. Best example was Halls of Djala, I was playing Cap and had both enemy DPS and Healers on me. It was 5 vs 2 for my team. Could have pushed. Nothing happened. Punishers not shooting Storm's. Psylock's going behind enemy lines and dying without achievement anything. Entire team is on point, main tank decides to go forward, dies and complains: "NO HEALS?!?!?". And the constant : "I did 20k this or 10k that". If you're an DPS and your Final hits don't roughly compare to your kills, wtf are you doing ?

Chances are good this is how Marvel will dripfeed content going forward. Predictive program people to like the characters in the game, then launch their lifestyle brand film/media department to capitalize on the characters being popular again.

Marvel struck gold at exactly the right time with Rivals since the general consumer was starting to get nigger/woke fatigue, so they're capitalizing on that with spinoffs with lesser known heroes in a non-woke universe (they are clearly setting Fan 4 in an alternate 70's with an all white ensemble cast, really obvious pandering to try and get us chuds back on board).

EOMM is so much fun. Love when ranked mode is not about the application of skill but AI slop for the maximizing of profits. Gonna try to game the system if that doesn't help, I stop playing ranked until next season.
 
It's telling how far Marvel has fallen if their only worthwhile product right now is a chink Overwatch clone that has to depend on the IPs and BOOBIES to sell. This is just going to start a new generation of people who only know about Marvel from this game, just like we've seen an entire generation of people who only know about Marvel from the MCU. This lead to an entire generation of media being destroyed since everyone wanted to make their own quippy capeshit no matter the setting, this game however sets the precedent that chink free to play slop is good actually, which will just lead to more normalfags playing games like this in the future.
Not playing BTW, Winnie The Pooh can kiss my ass. There is plenty of good Marvel games already.

To be fair, this chink slop is far more faithful to the source material than anything Disney or Marvel have shat out in close to 20 years, which is a depressing realization.
 
Holy shit I just realized how little I've actually played the game. Although I've been playing almost every day, on the Time Played in my profile it says 13-something hours. Is this accurate? In my mind I'm thinking I've been playing it for weeks, in reality It's been less than 14 hours total. No wonder I'm so shit.

And for the love of God, please buff Black Widow. Most heroes are small and mobile, a headshot should be a kill on squishies reeeeeeeeeee
 
First half of Season 1 ends on February 21st for Marvel Rivals

End of First Half of Season 1​

  • Rank Reset for a drop of 4 divisions
  • Gold or above gets the Invisible Woman skin reward
  • GM or above gets a crest of honor to put on their profile banner

Second Half of Season 2​

  • New costume reward for Gold or above for when Season 1 ends altogether
  • More crest of honor for end of Season 1 but instead of only GM+ and Top 500 crests, there will be crests for Celestial and Eternity as well
  • Players will need to compete in 10 matches in the second half of Season 1 to get these new rewards
  • Human Torch and The Thing will be added

Future Seasons​

  • All New Season starts will have a 6 division drop instead of 7 divisions like Season 1 did
  • All mid-Seasons will have a 4 division drop

FUCKING MIDSEASON DIVISION DROP IS SO AIDS.​

EDIT: They have now updated their plans and will not be doing a midseason division drop. Players will no longer drop 4 divisions when the second half of Season 1 starts on the 21st. Players will still have to play 10 games to get their rewards for the second half of Season 1.

I reached Celestial rank and lost my will to play. My main issues:
- queues take up to 8 minutes,
- the matches are full of big ego faggots who boss you around then throw if you don't obey them,
- the meta abuse of C&D into Luna into Mantis/Loki for almost a minute of god mode is really unfun,
- certain heroes are just broken and get banned every time making the ban phase a repetitive time waste,
- you are not allowed to play anything but the same few meta heroes or team chimps out. And DONT YOU DARE copy any non-support ult as Loki,
- quickplay ends way too fast, it's always 4+ DPS and is full of bots, so it's not really an alternative.

Gameplay needs some serious rebalancing, Those support ults just make the game a waiting sim.

Congrats on reaching Celestial, solo or did you have a team ?

Yeah, most of the player base is full of babies who will start throwing temper tantrums the second something is not to their liking. I think the big issue with the triple support meta is that the ultimates are basically the same. C&D into Luna into Mantis means you can stop playing the game for a minute. In terms of balance/meta, the issue is probably the conservative approach to balance changes. I really hope mid-season brings a lot of balance changes. Especially for the healers, they need to tone down how fast they can get their ultimate.
I can barely stomach a match per day due to the insane faggotry in chat, stale meta and the fucking EOMM.
 
So, I downloaded the game last night and been playing it most of the day in my downtime.

Is it just me or is Iron Man overpowered. Everytime me or someone else plays him, he stomps the game. He feels like a soldier in tf2 if the soldier could infinitely walk on air. It doesn't help that there aren't that many hitscan weapons in the game, so melee characters can't reach him and the majority of heroes struggle to hit him.

If he has the Hulk on his team, he's overpowered because it makes his powered up laser do 220 DPS, which is one of the reasons why Hulk is basically permabanned at Diamond and above. His biggest strength (flying) is actually one of his biggest weaknesses as a lot of healers have issues keeping flyers alive because they're often outside their own healer's line of sight.

Iron Fist and Spider-Man can beat his ass midair. Hulk and Wolverine can ground flyers but otherwise he's safe from people like Venom, Thor, Cap, and Mr Fantastic. Namor, despite having a projectile, does really well against him because his squids can lock on to him.
