I've really liked Mr fantastic and he feels doubly disgusting now. Those stretchy punches add up fast now if you're whipping them around, and watching an enemy shit their pants because you just belly bumped into them when they tried to get away brings me immense joy. He probably sucks outside of my pocket of platinum retards but man does he thrive in disorganized matches just because he's so hard to put down.

Finally played this last weekend, and im really shocked with how mediocre it felt. I wasn't expecting it to be incredible since its from mobile game devs, but the movement feels really clunky. Also wasn't a fan of the shooting as it leans more into the moba lite aspect of ability characters being the most effective aside from a few niche cases such as 3shot mcree and projectile mcree.

Anyway, im curious what the casual appeal is that's held it up this long, since I predicted it falling off very soon after launch due to the movement speed and the majority of weapons being projectile. Is it being propped up by gooner designs or coasting off the IP?

Emma Frost has the face of a drag queen

Cant seethe about Emma Frost on /v/ so you are doing it here ? Or just shitty bait ?

I have been playing since its release and the game feels fine to play and is just fun. The game's success is not some kind of conspiracy. IP and gooner stuff certainly doesn't hurt the game, but if you think that's the only reason why it's still going strong, then you are just an idiot. Just move on if you can't make out why it's successful.

Anything Marvel has made in the last 15 years has either been milking their old franchises and making them shittier and making new shitty franchises for the "Modern Audience" that get praised by (((journos))) and (((critics))) while being the cinematic equivalent of dog shit. The only reason Marvel is even alive is because children and manchildren with soy overdose watch their shit and buy their slop products. The superhero genre is saturated with soy slop.

  • Individual Characters Feel Individually Strong
  • Teamwork is rewarded exponentially
  • Time to kill is lower than Overwatch but higher than e.g. Counter Strike
  • Game Changing Ultimates
  • Graphical Style That Doesn't Suck Ass
  • IP
  • Team Based/Competitive Mode BUT unlike most competitive games they balance towards casual play, not competitive (what kills 99% of competitive online games).
  • Easy rank up/down, no BS placements.
  • It's fun and doesn't have gayshit in it. Probably the only competitive online game that doesn't pander to faggots.
It's almost like fun games are fun? Good Artstyle+Good Gameplay (LOTS of people wanting an OW or LOL alternative.)+Good Community Management (no niggerfaggot shit) is easy to get into and enjoy. Same reason chinkshit games like Genshin are eating the west's lunch. People who have just wanted to play games are finally getting games that are good. It just sucks it had to take China tapping into that market to serve that audience.

Lol so because you enjoy slop, it's success should be self evident to me?
Yes, everything is slop. Fuck me. Do you need a dictionary, or are you unable to formulate a sentence without some buzzword? How does slop apply here ? Because it's Marvel ? Or the newest successful hero shooter ? Or is it the production values ? Or FOTM ( which doesn't apply anymore) ? What makes it slop, and which contemporaries of it aren't and why ?

I don't believe that you gave the game a fair chance because otherwise its success should be self evident, regardless if you enjoy it or not. The game does a lot of things right and has issues, of course. But saying it's mediocre with strange argumentation and attributing the majority of its success to other factors, which certainly play a role but not a major one, somehow tells me you were not interested in having an actual discussion about the game in the first place.

He's actually a top tier pick now. In GM+ (only 80 players are above GM currently), he has a 52.75% win rate with a 16.41% pick rate (1,985 matches).

GM+ duelists with a higher pick rate:
Hela (19.39% / 2,346 matches)
Psylocke (24.70% / 2,988 matches)

GM+ duelists with a higher win rate:
Magik (52.91%)
Iron Fist (52.91%)
Human Torch (54.64%)
Iron Man (54.97%)

He's really good counter-dive. His belly bump gives 75 shields to him and an ally while knocking back enemies. He can swing his arms to hit high mobility dive characters and he can pull them back to prevent them from escaping when they are trying to back out. He's also a very solid off-tank and his ult auto-wins any fight in an area with a low ceiling.

I still enjoy the game but it's a shame it quickly lost the excitement that stuck with something like Overwatch 1's launch. The game wasted no time rushing into seasonal theme events and the community only discusses when MOAR content will be added and refuses to live in the moment and enjoy what they have. Also another game where the community is obsessed with competitive mode and endlessly argues about things that don't exist, see the supposed "support strike" as my prime example.

Hero shooters are my guilty pleasure and I hope Rivals continues to grow but I suspect in 4-5 years it will be talked about like League of Legends or Overwatch 2; a game no one should touch, played only by those with Stockholm syndrome or sunk cost fallacy.

I didn't suffer any support strikes during that meme being pushed.

However teams collapsing pretty fast were happening.

And Iron Fist with Groot being banned more than the traditional Spiderman picks.

Also later on learned that Rivals uses an AI algorithm as far as competitive mode goes.

Don't forget the Goon crowd unless DC comes up with something better.

Just finished a game where a tranny on the mic immediately began shifting blame everytime they died. I've realized I'm not cut out for these games because I get irrationally angry at this kind of stuff. I just wish I could force them to watch a replay of the game and understand how shit they are at it.

Many such cases. It's part of the reason why I rarely play multiplayer games nowadays - they went to shit after everyone and their mother started playing videogames, or more specifically, during the early 2010's.

I like this game because it really does blend shooting and brawling well. You have a pure sniper character (even if shes shit rn) like black widow existing with a pure brawler like Mr Fantastic. Then you have spiderman being a mixture while iron man is a flying canon.

One thing these sort of game dev's talk about is 'hero fantasy'. This game does a really good job of bringing the comic book heroes to life. "Marvel slop"..sure I guess? Except this instance it works great and feels fun to play even if you only saw a few comic books.
