I beat nightmare 4 and yeah, this zombies mode is awesome. Looking forward to it coming back next year with more characters. My winning team was a thor, punisher, magic, and myself on blade. Blade os ridiculous in this mode, I ended the match with 4 billion damage and almost 10k kills. The Thor couldn't keep up, which is sad because he is definitely the most fun character to play.

I was hoping for cyclops, but rogue and gambit are fine. Hopefully they just pretend that awful RogueXMagneto plotline in the new cartoon never happened. Having gambit get cucked across the multiverse would be fucking wild.

Zombies is fun as fuck, love playing Punisher and the mid to endgame just turning into a big fireworks show or just getting huge as Jeff while exploding bubbles and starting blue fires everywhere. I find it really funny how in the patch that buffed the characters in Zombies, Blade was the only one who didn't get a buff though. Rough around the edges slightly, but it's a real good first attempt at PvE, I want to see future PvE efforts with other characters getting insane tweaks.

A very promising update. Gambit being a strategist is exactly what I've asked for, making popular characters that could easily be duelist, and instead twisting their abilities into the tank and support role.

The two new maps, 100-player friendly server and a 18vs18 deathmatch, I can't see myself being on the friendly servers because I've never been that type of player but I love chaos and if a 32-man server can bring that TF2 Dustbowl energy to the game I'm all for it. With an official friendly mode being added I would expect to see a lot of emotes coming our way for that roleplay and/or meme crowd to spam.

Love the theme of this season, looks like a good balance of cosmic weirdness and wholesome couples costumes. I think it's cute that Loki and Mantis are a thing although I really don't see what Venom and Wanda have in common. I wasn't crazy about them adding community memes into the game (brainrot Jeff emote, Mantis lamp cat emote, Blade giving Jeff a haircut emoji); but I recognise it's important to let the playerbase have some impact and ability to affect these things. It's how you keep players invested and motivated to play (and spend).

It's been a little rocky but it's nice to see the first year go out with a bang, competitive mode finally has placement matches and more lenient rules as to party sizes. We know less duelists is the plan going forward and there's still a lot of iconic characters to come. The only thing that can go wrong now is a Blizzard-style stagnation and lack of interest, who knows if a 2 month season model is sustainable.

I think placements have come in at a great time. I've noticed a lot more people slowly stop playing competitive because the 10 division drop is extremely annoying to regrind every two months. Even though it only takes like 3-4 wins to get through a division, people generally don't want to pump out another 30-40+ win spread every 2 months just to get the same rank they had last season. Placements knocking off at least half that work is huge and actually motivates people to try to grind again.

As stressful as competitive can be, people avoiding that will likely stop playing over time because quick play is some of the worst matches you can get and only results in people getting more frustrated and leaving.

18 v 18 turned out to be some hectic fun, but the map is way to small and the score limit way too little to make it truly enjoyable. Games literally only last 5 minutes. Was hoping for TF2 2fort style shenanigans, but might have to wait a little longer for that.

Big lobby battles have proven yet again to be the most superior form of entertainment as there is no expectation of fairness and everyone is there to have stupid fun. TDM is fine but a bigger map with some objective would be more fun. Resource Rumble is probably salvageable with 18v18 because of how big that map is and how long those matches go on for. They could also go for the Battlefield/Alterac Valley idea of just having a big map with multiple objectives.

I would very much be in favor of this, I've tried to like it but RR is such a mess. The map feels made for 18v18 there is so much space wasted, it reminds me of the maps on Doom 2016's multiplayer with all the little alcoves and passage ways.

Rogue is a vanguard, I'm a lot more confident in NetEase's long-term release schedule now that season 4 and 5 have shown their hand. Seems season 2 and 3 should not have been so soon after launch if this is what was waiting around the corner. That Savage Land skin for Rogue looks great, shame we got the grandma voice actor from the Xmen 97' show, I feared they would do this, the original voice talent for Rivals has been impressive, even if sometimes unfitting (Daredevil).

I say this as someone who loves the vanguard role, Rogue's kit does not have me excited. It's impressive that her stealing power has been recreated so faithfully but she has a very jumbled set of abilities and I don't see her trumping Emma. I think her ult-charge draining ultimate will be great in those tense overtime battles but I think beyond that the consistency of Emma and Magneto will win out overall. I hope I'm wrong, I'll be playing plenty of her regardless.

She can't trump Emma because Emma is an anchor/main tank and Rogue is an off-tank. She's supposed to play tank-support by stealing useful abilities ( A Strange Shield, a Loki Lamp, a Hela Stun) and forcing people out of position with her air and dive kick. She also lives and dies by her cooldowns, so both a high skill floor and a high skill ceiling.

This was quite a nice surprise to see during the game awards. Really like the designs for both Wade and Elsa, they're a cute duo in the King Deadpool series. Seems here they're a little less friendly, that or it's just them blowing off some steam.

Both this trailer and Rivals itself now says it's a NetEase and "Fantasy Studio Group" production, doing a basic search I came up empty handed so this either some small company roped in to help with game production and/or animated trailers; or this is some new company setup for Marvel Rivals.

Recently, there was tournament with a 40k prize pool to celebrate the release of deadpool. One of the competitors, kingsman, got kicked off his team team for actually trying to win. He asked for one of his shitter teammates to swap to something better but they refused; his own team dogpiled on him for trying to improve their comp. He was kicked off soon after and lost the potential 3k he could have used to pay for his college. Kingsman's former team got roffle stomped after kicking him off since he was the best player on the team. There's more to the story but that's the TLDR.

>be Kingsman, magik main and One Above All (top 500) player
>Basim is hosting a tournament that is sponsored by Netease for $40k
>gets invited by a team captain, Cece
>invites his duo queue friend Luciyasa to join him (spoiler alert, he hard carries her)
>gets really motivated because he's a broke ass college student and he could really use that money
>tries to organize the team to scrim and prepare
>lets them know during scrims since there's a cash prize, the other teams are going to go full meta comps with Triple Support and that Widow is a bottom tier character that is going to keep getting focused by the enemy team and killed
>his team doesn't care and Zazzastack (peak Diamond player from OCE that is playing on 200ping) decides to keep playing Widow
>spends the entire time coordinating his team, making callouts, and all around hard carrying as he drops 18 kills with 2 deaths as Magik
>meanwhile Zazza is going 0 kills, 5 deaths, and 0 assists, so she's doing literally fucking nothing
>asks for Zazza to swap to another character so they have a chance
>girls decide to girlboss and keep bullying him for asking them to take it seriously
>even Luci becomes a backstabbing cunt and shit talks him, hoping to cozy up to the bigger streams like Cece
>girls start claiming the only reason he's hardcarrying is because the entire team is focused on Zazza
>even offers to swap to Mantis so he can damage boost Zazza so she can 1-tap, team declines
>Cece complains to the host of the tournament, Basim
>Zazza's boyfriend, Kaplunkk, makes a shitty google dockey on Kingsman being toxic with false evidence and posts it on twitter
>Basim is a retard and uses that shitty google dockey as reasoning to kick Kingsman from the tournament without even spending 10mins to watch the VODs
>everything that Kingsman predicted would happened ended up happening as every team runs full meta shit and their team goes 1-8 (last place) with him kicked
>all the girls keep shit talking him, even Luci
>everyone rallies behind Kingsman and he goes from 200 to 4k viewers on twitch, becomes partnered, and his audience is begging him to run more ads
>Zazza now becomes synonymous for throwing in the Rivals community
>Zazza tries to ignore the backlash but now people are leaving her games in ranked (the game doesn't autofill in ranked so she loses those games)
>Cece tries to make a 15m video shitting on Kingsman when it's just a black screen with a PNG (she's a facetuber btw), and everyone can tell she's doing the higher pitched voice to manipulate people
>everyone dunks on Cece, her video is currently 600 likes/33k dislikes, and she gets banned from twitch because she told someone to KYS like a retard
>Kaplunkk locked down his twitter account like a pussy
>Luci deleted all her vods of the event
>Basim isn't likely going to get anymore Netease sponsorships
>Basim is the only one of the retards that is taking responsibility and admits he was wrong and he acted out of haste and misinformation
>this whole shitshow has gone global because even the Atlanta Hawks media accounts made a joke about it and all the content creators from Asmongold to Moistcritical are reacting to it

Even Cece is losing sponsorships over this now
